Day 1

San Jose – Exuberant Beginnings

Welcome to the capital of Costa Rica, the fast moving city of San Jose. The metropolis quickly shows you its charm, vibrant in sporadic murals and locals’ jovial smiles. Shopping arcades overflow with active people passing the afternoon with friendly faces and window-shopping. Colonial art mansions display contemporary artwork in refurbished modern galleries. Your private guide meets you at the airport and soon you settle into the lovely grounds of your boutique hotel, filled with the famous warmth of Ticos, Costa Rican locals. The scent of rich Costa Rican coffee drifts through the lobby and you are easily swept up into the city’s underlying charm.

The Art Deco Décor matches the home-country edifice to create a chic, yet comfortable ambiance. San Jose was once a small town in the mid 16th century set atop a landscape that continues to rise up to its highest point at 4,100 feet. The Blue Castle is located on Central Avenue and was constructed in the early 1900s. The neoclassical home presents the classic style and color of the past, tinted with the continued blue coloration it is known for today. The beauty of the building represents the magnetism of the city, and hidden around every energetic corner is a treasure waiting to be noticed and uncovered.

Zicasso's travel specialists and the rest of the team were incredible. They planned a perfect trip for me, from hotels to transportation to excursions, and were incredibly responsive while I was in Costa Rica. I will be going back to Costa Rica in the near future because of how much I enjoyed my trip, and will certainly be working with this tour operator to plan any future trips to Costa Rica!

What a well-oiled machine! Zicasso’s travel specialists are completely dialed. Every meeting, appointment, ride, and tour the travel specialist arranged was spot-on and punctual. They clearly have an excellent relationship with the tour operators and drivers they use. And these people all provided an excellent service.

Costa Rica Tour Review: Tortuguero, Nosara, 11 Nights

Zicasso’s travel specialist was great, right from the planning to the execution stage. They patiently listened and planned the activities, and adjusted to our changes as requested.

On the ground, the hotels met our expectations, the team was excellent, the drivers were great and professional, and the communication via the WhatsApp group in Costa Rica worked perfectly. No surprises, things worked smoothly.

Costa Rica Birthday Vacation Review: Tortuguero National Park, Monteverde, Arenal, Manuel Antonio, Hot Springs, Suspension Bridges, Catamaran Cruise, 12 Days

Our recent trip to Costa Rica was absolutely amazing. The trip far exceeded our expectations. Our experience was everything we hoped it would be and more. Zicasso’s travel specialist took the vision I had for celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and turned it into something magical. From start to finish, she was extremely responsive. We had no issues with communication.

When we arrived in Costa Rica, we were warmly greeted by a representative from the tour operator. The transfers from one destination to the next were seamless. We were completely blown away with the accommodations and excursions. Our local representative was our point of contact during the trip. She was super-friendly and very responsive. We really had no hiccups during our trip. There isn't one thing that I can think of that went wrong. It was definitely a trip we will never forget and something we will be talking about for a long time.
