San Jose – Always More To Do

San Jose is the largest city in Costa Rica and quickly wraps you up in its underlying charm. The streets connote the variety of culture from around the country. Murals encapsulate the spirit of the local people in both lively color and joviality. Your private transfer meets you at the airport. Settle into the comforts of your hotel located in the beautiful neighborhood of Amon. Refurbished colonial mansions decorate the streets. The accommodations were once home to an array of coffee barons. Wrap-around porches are adorned with elegant woodcarvings. Rising palms shade the walkways. The rhythm of the city seems to travel through every neighborhood.

The city life brims around Avenida Central near Plaza de la Cultura. Locals pour through the streets and enjoy the window arrangements in the variety of stores. The Gold Museum offers you a glimpse into the historic riches of the country before the arrival of Spanish Conquistadors. With over 200 shops in the Central Market you can find a captivating display of tropical fruits, including watermelon larger than any have ever seen before. Indulge in the quiet atmosphere of Morazán Park. The Temple of Music is shaped like a dome and sits close to the park’s center. It was a nicely prepared and executed trip. The staff was responsive and seemed quite knowledgeable. The local vendors used were all professional, seemed passionate about what they do, and were quite accommodating and flexible.

Costa Rica Tour Review: Tortuguero, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, Arenal, La Fortuna, Wildlife, Ziplining, River Rafting, 12-Day Trip

I was immediately impressed by Zicasso’s travel agent’s professionalism and the initial outline he prepared after reading my notes of what we’d like to do on our trip.

His revision included most everything we wanted to do (even the pineapple tour!).

As an event planner myself, I understand the amount of work and time it takes to prepare an itinerary. He nailed it!

Costa Rica Vacation Review: Sailboat, Wildlife, 1-Week Trip

Zicasso’s travel company did a great job with our tours. Our dedicated driver added so much to our vacation. The house and views were fantastic. Wildlife was abundant.

The only thing I would change would be the sailing trip, as three of us got seasick. This kind of boat was awful for those of us who suffer that fate—a catamaran, which I have been on many times without getting seasick, would have been a better choice for us. We saw pilot whales!

Costa Rica Travel Review: Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, Ziplining, Whitewater Rafting, Canyoning, Waterfall, 10 Days

Zicasso’s travel specialist was absolutely amazing! I appreciated his insight and help when I initially presented my preferences. I think he did a fabulous job organizing our schedule and answering all my questions. He was always attentive and thorough. Later on, when his co-worker took over, she was also very thorough in explaining and answering any questions I had. Most of our tours were absolutely fantastic.
