Sydney - Wandering and Cruising Iconic Central Sights
Sydney is draped along the Parramatta, a city of icons and an upbeat attitude, where every day can feel like a weekend. The Opera House sails shimmer white as the famous bridge arcs between the river banks filled with vastly different architecture as glamorous doorways lead to grand Victorian arcades. Darling Harbour is all sparkle and skyscrapers while The Rocks is more rustic and old-world, from a time when the first Europeans arrived. Somewhat surprisingly, most of the iconic sights are within three stops of each other on the metro, so it is easy to get around and glimpse all manner of famous places, even if you are feeling a little fatigued after the journey. Today you will join your local guide for a walk and ride through the city, and then cruise back to your Darling Harbour hotel by boat, heading beneath Sydney Harbour Bridge to an enclave of bustling waterside restaurants.

Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable trip. Thanks to the great travel itinerary built by Zicasso’s tour operator, we experienced the best of the best in Australia. We loved the experiences in all three cities, Melbourne, Cairns, Sydney! We really appreciated the detailed arrangements, with impeccable care, experiences, and thoughts.

Zicasso’s travel specialist is marvelous. From our introductory FaceTime chat, I knew he was the right person to plan our Australian adventure. I shared a general timeline and a few preferences—personalized travel, small-group tours, and a focus on scenery, food, and local experiences. I even casually mentioned that, since I pack light, laundry options every 7 to 10 days would be a bonus.
Wow—did the travel specialist deliver.
Private city tours in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne. A Blue Mountains excursion with a local resident. Wine tastings, a foodie walking tour in Melbourne, and fabulous centrally located hotels that made exploring on foot effortless. The Ghan train journey was an unforgettable highlight.
And yes—lodgings with on-site laundry right on cue around day 10 and day 20. Not bad for a “casual” request!
This trip was truly amazing and the travel specialist was an absolute pleasure to work with. Always responsive, thoughtful, and attentive, he made what could have been complex planning feel completely effortless—and perfectly tailored to my travel style.
Rave reviews all around.

My wife and I wanted to attend the Australian Open and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, but we weren’t sure how best to spend the rest of a two-week vacation in Australia. We reached out to Zicasso and they put us in touch with two travel planners. We had telephone conversations with both planners and both submitted preliminary ideas for our trip. Both planners were very professional and had great ideas, but the agent we chose recommended an itinerary that more closely matched our interests, abilities, and budget. She continued to work closely with us to fine-tune our adventure. The trip was fantastic! Everything our agent arranged ran very smoothly and all the people she put us in touch with were wonderful to work with. We cannot say enough nice things about her and Australia!

This was our first trip to Australia. Zicasso’s travel agent took time to get to know our family and how we like to travel. She gathered our interests and preferences, and carefully curated an itinerary that showcased Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairns/Port Douglas, all within our budget.
This travel agent was very responsive before and during our trip, and monitored our activities to make sure we were happy. In fact, during our stay, one of our excursions (kayaking in Cairns) was canceled due to weather and she was right on top of it. She was able to book us immediately on another expedition (whale watching) of our choice. We appreciated her responsiveness.
Overall, our entire family was extremely happy with our travel agent's arrangements and had a memorable trip to Australia.
