Our travel planner and his team helped my wife and I plan our 14 day honeymoon to Thailand, during which we spent time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Lanta. From our first introductory call with our travel planner we felt very comfortable trusting him to plan a trip for us to an area of the world we were totally unfamiliar with. We were slow to commit to plans initially, but our travel planner was very patient and continued to work with us through all of our planning questions and trip iteration requests in order to get us exactly what we wanted. Our travel planner worked within our budget and considered all our desires such as where we were willing to spend more on a hotel versus where we were okay with more budget friendly accommodations. Overall, working with him during the planning process helped put our minds at ease and really focus on the excitement of our upcoming trip.Although our pre-trip experience with this travel agency was great, where they really shined was once we got off the plane in Thailand. From the minute we got through security in Thailand we were taken care of by our travel planner's team (drivers, tour guides, office staff, etc.). Our full itinerary was organized by them on the Trip Plans app and we got daily morning messages from our travel planner's associate, with necessary documents such as flight information, tickets for tours, etc. From a logistical standpoint everything was flawless and my wife and I barely needed to think about anything, we could just take in the sights and enjoy the experience. In addition to the flawless planning and execution of the trip, several steps our travel agency took made our trip truly amazing. We were paired with the two incredibly tour guides during our time in Thailand, both of whom we will both never forget. During our time in Bangkok we spent nearly two full days touring with a guide and wouldn't have changed a thing. From the first minute we met her she had a huge smile and helped ease us into our trip. She was a wealth of knowledge, answered all of our questions with ease and was always looking to help to find a great photo opportunity. In Chiang Mai we were paired with another guide. Once again, everything with this guide was perfect. He couldn't have been more friendly and did lots of small things during our tours to give us a unique genuine local experience. After only a short time with each of these guides, they truly felt like great friends. We were set up with experiences, not just tours, that were intimate and felt genuine. We did lots of the typical tourist things in Thailand (street markets, elephant sanctuary, cooking classes, etc.), but there was an obvious effort made by our travel agency to make these experiences as genuine and customized as possible. Without our travel expert's planning we surely wouldn't have taken a bamboo raft trip through the mountains of Chiang Mai during our trip to the elephant sanctuary. We likely would have ended up at a more commercial cooking class instead of the amazing experience we had at a local family's house learning to cook in Chiang Mai. Every activity we participated in through our travel agency clearly was developed with lots of thought and effort to create a great opportunity to experience Thailand in an authentic way.During the trip planning process, due to our delayed decision making, the room type we wanted at the resort in Koh Lanta was no longer available, but we shrugged it off and moved forward with our trip. However, our travel planner knew we really desired a certain room type. Upon arriving at the resort in Koh Lanta we learned that he had called ahead and worked his magic to get us a room upgrade, not just to the room type we were hoping for, but even better. We were at a loss for words and the effort our travel planner took to make this happen, truly made our honeymoon unforgetable.I would recommend our travel agency for anyone who plans to visit Thailand, but particularly for those that aren't seasoned international travelers. They made everything so easy that we were never stressed or overwhelmed being on the other side of the world. Our trip was enhanced so greatly by having them on board, particularly with their local presence, and we couldn't imagine having went on this trip without their support.Show More
We highly recommend this travel agency. We wanted to go to SE Asia for a month-long trip but didn't know where to start; it seemed so overwhelming. Then, thru Zicasso, we found this company. Soon after engaging with them, they gave us a good idea of where we should go and what we should based on our desires and constraints. Together, we designed a trip that was fantastic. We just returned from spending a month visiting five countries, and we loved our entire trip. And when we needed help or had questions along the way, they were readily available to support us.we are recommending them to all of our friends, and we will certainly use them again if we travel to that part of the world.Show More
We had a terrific trip but I feel compelled to only give this tour company four stars because of the difficulties we had in the planning stage. We quickly signed a contract with them based on an itinerary and hotels they proposed and then they told us that most of them were booked and offered alternatives, some of which were not equivalent to what was initially in their itinerary. We eventually got it straighten out with the help of zicasso customer service. I might also add that once we were en route, we had an excellent trip. Great guides, great experiences, lovely hotels and just about everything was executed well.Show More
The trip planner from the travel agency made our trip perfect. He worked with us to create a custom itinerary providing a great balance of seizing the opportunities Thailand provides along with some downtime for self-exploration. Our planner knew Thailand very, very well being able to make comparisons between cities, excursions, and hotels to ensure we'd get the most out of our trip. He was very responsive throughout the planning process and provided a seamless travel experience allowing us to focus on vacationing and new life experiences. Additionally, the local guides, our guide in Bangkok, and our guide in Chiang Mai, both went above and beyond to make local food and outing recommendations along with even letting us customize our guided tours. They were both very knowledgeable, fun, and our guide in Chiang Mai even went out of the way to book us a Thai massage in person upon our asking.Hope to travel to Asia again and will definitely reconnect with this travel agency!Show More
We had a great trip up until the last 4 days or so. This was no fault of the travel company but it was cut short buy the coronvirus. We started our trip near the end of February and the virus was somewhat limited to China and didn't seem to be a problem in the rest of the world. In fact, starting our Vietnam tour in Ho Chi Minh we found most of the attractions not very busy.We did kind of semi custom trip with it starting in Ho Chi Minh, going south to the Mekong Delta and then over to Cambodia. The hotels were very good in the first 2 stops but in Cambodia (Siem Reap) we had probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel by the Siem Reap river was exceptional with a couple of extras I had never seen before. Free laundry and a free massage (daily). The people in this hotel were also very friendly and helpful. Our next stop in Hoi Ann was a very nice stop as well. We spend a few days seeing the sights (a tour of Marble Mountain and a great Vespa tour around the countryside in Hoi Ann) but we also stayed in a hotel by the sea so we were able to add in a beach type vacation. The next stop in Hue was also very interesting seeing the Citadel. Also had my favourite lunch here at a french style restaurant.Going up to Hanoi we noticed things were changing as we couldn't do the tour of Ha Long/Lan Ha Bay. The government was closing tourist areas as the virus was spreading rapidly in the world. We did go down to Ninh Binh to see that area but temples and attractions were closing there as well. We changed our flights but almost got stuck at a hotel due to a potential virus spread in the hotel. Thankfully, the tests were negative and we were able to leave on schedule. The last few days required a number of changes to our plans as things were quickly and unexpectedly closing around us quickly. As you can imagine this caused a great deal of stress not knowing if we even be allowed to leave. All this required us to rely heavily on our travel planner of this company. We had to change tour plans, hotel reservations and even meal plans. I am so thankful that we got the advice, changes and support when we needed it. Not sure that a tour guide from back home would have been able to help us to the degree that we received from our planner. Overall it was a great vacation. The guides, drivers, attractions and hotels were all top notch. We were able to adjust the pace of the vacation for it to be relaxing as well as interesting. Unfortunately, things beyond our control forced us to cut it short.Show More
Very accommodating. When they made a scheduling error they willingly paid the difference. Their hotel choices were excellent. The itinerary could have been better. 2 days on a boat that was boring. Not enough days in Luang Prabang. Too many long drivers especially 8 hour drive to Plan of Jars. Fortunately I changed their recommendation and flew out.Show More
First, the travel designer planned an amazing trip for us to Belize - great locations, activities, etc. Second, the designer and her team were very helpful and responsive! We went in January - when Omicron was surging. We were panicking about seeing if we change the dates, what happens with our travel insurance during different points of our trip if we do get Covid, etc. They helped field alllll of our questions with compassion and kindness - if we were driving them crazy they never showed it to us. Third, they were helpful and responsive even when we were on our trip. They helped reorganize some excursions on our behalf due to inclement weather in the forecast. Fourth, they were very organized and emailed/mailed us all the documents we needed, etc. and loved the personalized website they created for our trip. Lastly, it was great our designer reached out afterwards for feedback on our trip – I definitely recommend them, and look forward to working with them again in the future!Show More
Overall, it was a satisfying experience. Guides and hotel accommodations everywhere were superb. Airline travel within Vietnam went without any glitch.only problem was Bus transportation. Bus was small to hold luggage of 14 people with two pieces each and a carryon. On very first day , a/c quit in the middle of the road on the way to hotel. A second bus came to rescue 30 minutes later. People sweated in the scorching heat inside bus. Same problem happened on day 2 while on the way to a floating boat village. Again another bus rescued us.Rest of the trip was very good. We admired value of the trip given great accommodation everywhere. A chain hotel was the best hotel overall both in quality of accommodation and service. Other hotels were good too but did not match service like the chain hotel.Show More

“Amazing 5 week holiday in Indochina”
Our tour planner, from the tour company, organized an amazing luxury trip for my husband and I in January/February 2019. We had private guides and drivers throughout our trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. During our holiday, we also had 7 scheduled air flights (the most efficient way to see these countries) between the various locations we visited and we were delivered and picked up on time in every place.
The itinerary was excellent and well planned to ensure we saw the highlights of this area. Our tour planner worked very hard to include any ideas of sites we wanted to see and her email response time was exceptional.
Our guides were generally very good and we particularly enjoyed Mike (Hanoi) and Khuong (Hanoi and Sa Pa) who both had excellent English.
Our tour planner recommended all of our hotels and we were delighted with them It truly was the best and most efficient, stress free way to see Indochina and we highly recommend this tour company.
Travel Review: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Chiang Rai, Siem Reap, Golden Triangle
I am happy having chosen Zicasso's travel company partner. I've never known a tour operator as patient and as accomodating as our two specialists. Our trip was so amazing. Exactly how we wanted it to be. So awesome to have been able to visit 5 countries with the Golden Triangle in a short period of time. My husband loved the cooking classes at our resort and Hanoi. We so enjoyed the Vietnam street food tour by Vespa. Everything, just everything was absolutely anazing. This was a trip to remember. Thank you very much.
Review: Luxury Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia & Thailand Trip, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hanoi, Cooking with Locals, Angkor Wat Sunrise
From the initial contact with our travel planner from this travel company to our return flight to the US, the memorable journey was seamless. Our travel planner listened to our interests and designed a balanced trip to fit all the various activities and sites we requested. We communicated through numerous emails and our travel planner was always quick to respond and eager to please. We visited four countries over a month of travel and each destination included a private guide and driver who were all punctual and informative. The comfortable accommodations varied from a 5 star resort hotel to several boutique style hotels and even overnights on a cruise in Halong Bay and a private sampan to cruise the Mekong Delta. A comprehensive itinerary which included all the major sites and opportunities to learn about the food and culture was well planned and created with many memorable moments – bike cycling in Hoi An, dinner with a family in Hanoi, cooking lessons in Vietnam and Thailand, sunrise at Angor Wat etc. etc. Our travel planner arranged for expedited service as we entered each country and this saved hours of standing in line to complete the unique requirements of each country. Overall we were more than pleased with this fabulous trip and would highly, recommend working with this travel company.
Review: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam, Chiang Mai, Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh City, Bai Tu Long Bay, Bangkok
My husband and I decided on a custom trip to Indochina to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. As an avid traveler I always prefer to do my own planning, but dealing with the logistics of covering 4 countries in 24 days where there are 3 alphabets I was unable to read did not sound overly appealing. I compared 4 travel agencies in both the U.S. and Asia. Having utilized Zicasso once before, I selected one of their recommendations as the best fit. Our travel specialist, who is the founder and co-owner of his company, was a newcomer to Zicasso. He was professional, thorough, and accommodating in designing our customized journey. From our initial phone conversation to the extensive emails I sent, our trip evolved over 6 months of planning. Throughout the process, our agent responded promptly to countless questions and truly listened to my input and needs.
We requested a fairly fast-paced trip with some downtime at the end to relax. We wanted to have a variety of hands-on activities and authentic cultural experiences with an opportunity to get off the beaten path and away from crowds of tourists. Although I had done extensive research on my own, our agent offered many additional suggestions tailor made to enhance our travel. He was open to and appreciative of honest feedback (even during the trip), always striving to provide the best possible travel experience. Our vacation took us to Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Tre (along the Mekong), Hoi An, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, and Bai Tu Long Bay. The trip included 6 internal flights, a 2-night cruise, 4-5 star hotels, 3 food tours, 2 shows, expedited visa service, private guides and drivers, and all entrance fees and activities. Food, when included, was abundant and delicious. All hotels were excellent and beautifully appointed.
There were a few glitches during our journey. Since I had worked as a tour guide myself, having enthusiastic and engaging guides was a top priority for me. We had fabulous guides in Luang Prabang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi- guides whose knowledge, passion, and personalities made their culture come to life. Several others, however, did not measure up, and this was a huge disappointment. Since the company is based in Vietnam, I wondered how much control they had over guides selected in other countries. Another problem we encountered is that, after a flight delay, there was no official to meet us at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City for expedited visa service. We contacted our travel specialist in Hanoi who tried his best to help us, but we still spent over 2 hours getting through the process. As an apology, he upgraded our hotel room in Hanoi for 3 nights and treated us to a luxurious dinner. Sometimes there are unforeseen hiccups while traveling and we were most grateful for this kind gesture.
Review: Tour of China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Phuket, Cu Chi Tunnels
Fantastic. This travel company did not fail us ever. Fully professional guides led us through a dozen cites in 5 countries. Our itinerary, carved by professionals at Zicasso and our travel company made each stop and venue interesting and memorable.
Travel Review: Family Tour of Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia & Myanmar, Yangon, Bangkok, Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, Halong Bay
Our search began, as with most, jumping around on various internet sites looking to establish travel on a unique tour of Southeast Asia. Our goal, for a two week trip (14 days) for our family of three, was to experience Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar.
Currently living in Singapore, we have friends and coworkers who suggested some "areas" of the region and specific locations and sites that were defined as a "must see". Along with those suggestions very often they included the comments on how beautiful, peaceful, and friendly this area of the world truly is. In a word, "GO", and experience all that Southeast Asia has to offer and you will not be disappointed.
Our online research brought us to Zicasso, where we outlined at a very high level our goals of selected countries, types of experiences, hotel grade, type of room, and special accommodations related to allergies. It was at this point and time that we were connected with our travel agency to begin constructing our tailor made tour.
Almost immediately, our agent was at our tailored need in guiding us and helping us craft our itinerary. We found this travel agency to be extremely responsive and flexible, as well as, offering counsel and input. At first glance, our travel goals for the two weeks appeared a bit aggressive, and as our travel agency began constructing a sample itinerary they asked us to review it closely to be sure we were going to be comfortable with the pace and travel that was to be required.
The process actually began with a phone call, basically an interview to understand our families' goals, needs, and desires for our hopeful experiences. Ongoing communication took place via email, with extremely quick responses to our questions or requests for additional understanding as we continued to do our online research of the region and awaited our proposed itinerary and cost.
We remember receiving the itinerary, and the excitement for the potential of what we were about to embark on immediately jumped out of the pages. The itinerary was very detailed indicating what would be taking place Day 1 thru Day 14. Our private tour included a personal guide for each location and a personal driver and van at each location as well. It listed their recommendation for the 4 - 5 star hotel at each destination and how and where we would be greeted upon arrival.
This last little component is one, as we actually traveled, we really came to appreciate. Our trip essentially included 8 flights over the 14 days. We arranged our travel to/from Singapore, our travel agency arranged all the other remaining transportation and flights. The travel agency had a representative meeting us as we got off the plane. In Vietnam for example, we just sat back as they managed and processed the express visa service, guided us through immigration and customs, assisted us in our bag collection, and then introduced us to our guide and driver as we headed to the hotel.
This experience was repeated as we arrived in Laos from Vietnam, in Cambodia from Laos, in Thailand from Cambodia, in Myanmar from Cambodia, and within Myanmar as we flew from Mandalay to Bagan, then flew from Bagan to Yangon. In part, this part of the travel arrangements constructed by this travel agency removed what could have been a very stressful component of the trip and had us relaxed, as we watched other travelers standing in long lines or trying to understand what was required to pass into country.
Speaking of potential stress, in the past, we would manage all the travel arrangements ourselves. We would construct the itinerary, including locations and sites, schedule in meals, manage local transportation, and try to take it all in at the same time. Managing all of that takes away from the experience, adds stress, and if you need flexibility you are not prepared to adjust or understand how. Our travel agency made all of that disappear and we simply got to sit back (ok, lots of walking and climbing, not exactly sitting back at a beach) and enjoy our trip. Here is where we became impressed. Our guides and drivers at each location were simply amazing. How friendly and gracious they were, they became part of the experience. We just didn't walk up a temple, we didn't simply see the sunrise at Angkor Watt, we heard and understood the history of what we were witnessing at each location. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable.................and observant. Without them, the trip's experience would have simply been reduced by 50% in appreciation and understanding.
We happened to travel from the end of June through the beginning of July. This isn't exactly prime tour season for these destinations (usually Oct - Mar). However, our family believes this made the experience that much more enjoyable. The guides and drivers were thanking us for our patronage and for visiting and everyone we engaged was so polite. This leads us right into the staff at each of the hotels. As we came and went on our daily tours and returned in the late afternoon or early evening, we felt as though we were being welcomed home. Often a cool drink, cool towel to refresh ourselves, and assistance greeted us each and every time. Always this came with a smile and a thank you. The people made our experience memorable and our travel agency put all of this together for our family.
Just when you think that the travel agency's personal touch couldn't get any better, our agent took the opportunity during our trip to actually meet us at the hotel while we were in Vietnam. Ensured we had all the personal contact information necessary for each contact at each location, as well as, his own personal contact information. He then presented out family with a small gift of appreciation. Nice job and well done. This was our first experience using both Zicasso and this travel agency and we were incredibly impressed.
