Naples – Arrive in Naples and Enjoy a Family Friendly Introductory Tour

Naples is a city of bustling activity and historical grandeur at the edge of the Bay of Naples. Palaces and churches line the exuberantly colorful streets of Italy’s third largest city as the aromas of fresh espresso and pizza fill the elegant piazzas. French, Spanish, Austrian, and Byzantine culture converge across an Italy city with ancient Greek foundations. Your family will land at Naples International Airport where you will meet your private transfer at baggage claim, and your family will then enter the fast pace of the city. As you drive in, you will find charm in both the narrow lanes of historical neighborhoods and broad promenades along the harbor.

Your comfortable hotel will overlook the Bay with a view of the dramatic ramparts of Castel dell’Ovo, a structure whose foundations date back to the 5th century AD. The kids will marvel at the ship masts that they can see in the distance in the harbor and then will notice their proximity to an actual castle, which will begin your journey as a family with enthusiasm. Your guide will meet you at your hotel eager to introduce your family to a city often overlooked by visitors and passed through on the way to the Amalfi Coast. Your guide will point out the aquarium at the edge of the harbor, the oldest in Europe.

You will find the scent of fresh, flaky pizza dough emanating from the local, quiet trattorias around town as you wander along Via Benedetto Croce to reach Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, a square encircled a central obelisk erected by monks in the 17th century. Palazzo Petrucci frames the piazza to the left, and your guide will lead you inside the church to find the remains of the original 10th-century Romanesque structure. Your family will enjoy the first view of historical frescoes painted by Renaissance masters, including Caravaggio and Tiziano.

Italy Tour Review: Sorrento, Venice, Colosseum, Blue Grotto, Gondola Ride, 2 Weeks

Zicasso’s travel agent developed our itinerary to our specifications. She reached out right away and called if a follow-up was needed or to clarify something. Our trip went off without any problems. The itinerary was very clear, as was the timeline, trip summary, and tickets. If I had a question, she always responded.

We had one slight issue, which was quickly resolved and worked itself out. I communicated often with her throughout the trip and I always received a pleasant response. Our trip was designed to our needs. Our accommodations were wonderful! I would definitely recommend this travel company!

France, Italy, China, Japan Trip Review: Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Glass Blowing, Cultural Experiences, 16 Days

Zicasso’s travel company did such a great job putting the trip together. I was charged for an extra night at our hotel in Paris, but they are refunding that and the Cairo portion of the trip we had to cancel.

Our Paris tour guide was great and I’d recommend her to anyone. Our Rome tour guides were very good. Hong Kong was fine. Our Tokyo guide was wonderful.

Really, the only hiccup on the trip was our hotel in Hong Kong. The company that picked us up dropped us at one hotel, not the correct one. Thankfully, a couple of their bellhops walked us and all our luggage several blocks to the correct hotel. Our tour guide the next day also went to the wrong hotel, but we only lost about 45 minutes before we figured out the issue. If you use that hotel again, please make sure folks know which hotel is which.

The "Fast and Furious" car experience was OK; however, my grandson was so tired he slept through most of it. The chopstick-making was fun, as was the glass-blowing experience.

Italy Travel Review: Amalfi Coast, Rome, Capri, Sorrento, 10 Nights

We had an amazing trip of a lifetime to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a fantastic job getting to know me and finding out what my exact wants were. They kept tabs on us while we were traveling and even contacted us when our train was delayed over an hour. When we had an issue, there was always someone there to help resolve it.

Italy Travel Review: Agrigento, Trapani, Favignana, Siracusa, Terrasini, Boat Ride, Street Food Tour, 2 Weeks

I really liked the hotels and the Airbnb we were booked in. The breakfasts were lovely, and the staff was even lovelier. Also, I appreciated that we started our trip in a smaller place before we tackled the bigger cities. The excursions were nicely spaced out and we really enjoyed our start-of-the-season boat cruise, as well as the final market tour.

Our drivers were either early or on time, and our “long-haul” driver for two of our trips was great. He and my husband really hit it off.

I really appreciated that staff members were available when we needed them (even on the weekends and even when we were the ones who showed up in the wrong spot).

Italy Vacation Review: Vatican, Colosseum, Venice, Cooking Class, Wine Tasting, Olive Oil, 11 Nights

Zicasso’s travel specialist made this our best trip ever. She was communicative and accommodating, as well as always available for our questions. Every tour and every guide was exceptional. Their ability to communicate their enthusiasm and passion was jaw-dropping. We came back each day with our mouths dropped by the amount of information and the fun we had. Each hotel the travel specialist picked for us was great, offering the best locations and caring, accommodating staff. She was a lovely and genuine person.

One of the highlights was our cooking class with a chef. This does not diminish each tour guide; they were perfect. Also, she arranged private transport that made our trip a breeze from beginning to end. Especially cool was the taxi in Venice! Thank you, to our travel specialist and Zicasso, for an amazing vacation. Oh, the wine and olive oil were perfection. Highly recommend!
