Detailed Description

With the mighty Mekong mapping much of the route, explore the incredible historical, architectural, sacred and scenic highlights of Cambodia and Laos. This is a world of busy markets and stunning textiles, tranquil temples and awesome Khmer ruins. Try to spot rare river dolphins and relax in riverside cafes to watch magnificent sunsets.

Day 1 Arrive Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok at any time.

Day 2-3 Siem Reap (2B)
Explore Indochina's most incredible historic sight - the vast temple-palace complex of Angkor, capital of the Khmer Empire.

Day 4-5 Phnom Penh (2B)
Travel to Cambodia's riverside capital. Explore this pleasant riverside city of cafes, shady streets and thriving markets full of vibrant textiles and curios.

Day 6 Kratie/ Steung Treng
Perhaps see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy River Dolphin that inhabits this stretch of the Mekong.

Day 7 Don Khong
Enjoy an island stay in the heart of Si Phan Don (4000 Islands), one of the most beautiful stretches of the Mekong complete with waterfalls, coconut palms, Irrawaddy dolphins and long-tail fishing boats.

Day 8 Champasak & Dong Deng (B,L,D)
Enjoy a riverside town and dramatic mountainside Khmer temple.

Day 9-11 Luang Prabang (2B)
Luang Prabang is undoubtedly the "Jewel of Laos", a peaceful riverside town of tranquil temples, incredible textiles, cafes and bakeries.

Day 12 Vang Vieng
Nestled amid limestone karst hill, cycle or walk to explore the many caves in the region, or just relax by the river.

Day 13-14 Vientiane (B)
Scour the morning market for souvenirs, count the Buddha images in Wat Si Saket or simply relax with a Beer Lao in one of the many riverside stilt restaurants.

Day 15 Depart Bangkok
Arrive back into Thailand's busy capital. Trip ends on arrival at Bangkok Railway Station.
