Detailed Description
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:
DAY 1, SUN: USA
Depart USA for an overnight flight to Cairo. Full service on board.
DAY 2, MON: CAIRO
Arrival in Cairo. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
DAY 3, TUE: CAIRO
After breakfast depart for your full day tour. Visit the Great Pyramid built 4500 years ago, and sneak a peek at the inner burial chambers. Explore the pyramids built by Mycerinus and Chepheren and beware the mighty Sphinx protector of the Pharaohs. After lunch drive to Memphis, ancient Egypt’s first capital, where you will discover Sakkara, the necropolis of this city and site of Djoser’s step Pyramid. (B,L)
DAY 4, WED: CAIRO / LUXOR / NILE CRUISE
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Luxor. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your cruise ship. Enjoy a relaxing sail along the Nile.

DAY 5, THU: NILE CRUISE
Visit Dendarah and enjoy the Temple-Complex dedicated to Hathor, goddess of love, beauty and fertility. Afternoon sail to Luxor for overnight. (B,L,D)
DAY 6, FRI: NILE CRUISE
Visit Karnak Temple-Complex built by generations of Pharaohs over a 2000 year period. Continue to the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the exquisite Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades, guarded by the enormous statues of Ramses II. (B,L,D)
DAY 7, SAT: NILE CRUISE
Proceed to the Valley of the Kings and Queens,visiting the Tombs of the Great Pharaohs. You will then continue to the Valley of the Queens to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, visiting the Colossi of Memnon before returning to your cruise for lunch. Sail to Edfu. (B,L,D)
DAY 8, SUN: NILE CRUISE
Travel by horse-drawn carriages to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all large Egyptian Temples. Sail to Kom Ombo, a hill tower overlooking the banks of the Nile for overnight, and visit the Greco Roman Temple of Kom Ombo. (B,L,D)
DAY 9, MON: NILE CRUISE
Sail to Aswan, Egypt’s southern-most city. After lunch sail by felucca, passing the Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Visit Aswan High Dam, the Granite Quarries and unfinished Obelisk. (B,L,D)
DAY 10, TUE: NILE CRUISE / ASWAN
Disembark your cruise in Aswan after breakfast. You will be transferred to your hotel for check in and overnight. (B)
DAY 11, WED: ABU SIMBEL / CAIRO
After breakfast fly to Abu Simbel. Visit the colossal Temple of Abu Simbel carved from solid rock in 1235 B.C by the great pharaoh Ramses II. Beside it stands the Temple of Athor, honoring the Pharaoh’s wife, Nefertari. Fly to Cairo via Aswan. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)
DAY 12, THU: CAIRO
After breakfast begin a full day tour visiting the Egyptian Museum, containing the largest collection from the Pharaonic period. Afternoon tour of the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, Old Cairo’s Coptic Church and the century-old Ben Ezra Synagogue, followed by a visit to Khan El Khalili bazaar. (B)
DAY 13, FRI: CAIRO / USA
You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
Note: When the cruise sails from Aswan instead of Luxor, the cruise itinerary will operate in reverse. Due to closing of Esna Lock in January, June and December, the sightseeing to Luxor will be operated by motorcoach.
