GERMANY is without any doubt one of the best countries to experience the Christmas time - home of the original Christmas market from the 14th century. All the centres of the cities are specially decorated with lights and nice wood garments, in the central squares you can find lots of small shops where you can find unique Christmas presents. You can also try the local Glüwein (warm wine with sugar: careful!! Too sweet and warm, easy to lose your head), or the famous German sausages in a festive atmosphere with alive music, and most probably plenty of snow. Definitively you won’t find a better time to experience the magic of a country and get close to the Germans as in this moment.

Munich's traditional Christmas market - whose roots go back to the 14th century - is held on Marienplatz in the heart of the city centre. The justly popular Kripperlmarkt, one of the largest in Germany to specialise in cribs and other Nativity accessories, is a short walk away on nearby Rindermarkt. There is alpine Christmas music live from the town hall balcony every day. The "heaven workshop" offers creative activities for children free of charge.

This excursion will take you there to visit both of them, plus the visit of the interesting alpine village of Oberammergau, famous worldwide for its works in wood.

Christmas in Berlin is a wonderfully exciting time for visitors, who are pulled in different directions to the numerous handicraft stalls in the market near Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. If not tempted by the beautiful handicraft decorations, accessories and toys for sale, then visitors will sure be lured to the nearest refreshment stand by the scent of hot mulled wine and Germany's famous Christmas cookie, baked cinnamon stars, floating in the yuletide air. The sound of music also fills the air during the weekends of advent with musicians, trumpeters, and children's choirs performing at the Weltbrunnen fountain.
