Rothenburg ob der Tauber, best preserved medieval city including walls and gates. Füssen, at the footsteps of the Alps, or the silver city of Augsburg. With clear roman traces, nowadays this route leads us to the classical Germany and its best corners including tipical cuisinie, or why not, one of the best beers of the world. Be it by car, by bus or even by bicycle, this route will leave a deep impression on your heart. Let it live in you!
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 :
FRANKFURT-WÜRZBURG:
Arrival at the Frankfurt airport and pick up your car at the AVIS station. Start of your journey to Würzburg (just one and a half hour)
In the middle of vinyards the fortress of Marienburg will surprise our way and invite us to discover the treasures of this old city, like the cathedral or the anctient house of the bishop, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Program. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 2 :
WÜRZBURG-ROTHENBURG:
Breakfast in the hotel and free morning to explore this magical city. We suggest that you continue your journey not after midday to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where we will have the chance to see an unforgettable image of the mighty medieval walls and ancient squares, untouched since centuries. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 3 :
ROTHENBURG-AUGSBURG:
Breakfast and proceed for the next stop. We will be able to visit on the way nice small villages like Feuchtwangen, Dinkelsbühl or Donauwörth, before we get to Augsburg, more than 2 centuries old.
Founded by César Augustus and one of the oldest of the country, it lived its best time during the centuries 15 and 16. Treasures of this era are the old city, the Maximilian Street or the renaissance buildings. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 4 :
AUGSBURG-FÜSSEN:
Breakfast and proceed for one of the highlights of the trip: Füssen on the border with Austria and over 1.200 m over the sea level, the highest city of the Bayern, and where we will visit the best known castle of all the country: Neuschwanstein, by Ludwig II, the mad king, or also some others like Linderhof or Hohenschwangau. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 5 :
FÜSSEN:
Breakfast and free day to visit the castles and trek through the are. We should not miss beautiful villages like Oberammergau or Etal, alpine wood houses where one can buy the famous cookoo clocks. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 6 :
FÜSSEN-MUNICH:
Breafast and start of the last step of our journey, where we will arrive in Munich, the capital of Bayern. This metropolis offers a wide range of possibilities, be they cultural, shopping, museums, etc. You will need more than 2 days to enjoy this vibrant city. Arrival in the hotel and overnight.
Day 7 :
MUNICH-END OF TRIP:
Breakfast. Free time. At the scheduled time, departure for airport, where you will drop off your rental car and get your boarding card for your onward destination. END OF THE TRIP.
