Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrive Christchurch

On arrival in Christchurch, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Christchurch

Day 2 :

Christchurch—Mt Cook—Queenstown

Depart Christchurch early this morning and travel to beautiful Lake Tekapo. Continue on to Mt Cook National Park, which boasts New Zealand’s highest peak. There’s time to take an optional scenic flight (own expense). Continue on to Queenstown. Overnight: Queenstown for 3 nights

Day 3 :

Milford Sound Day Excursion

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fiordland National Park en route to Milford Sound. Cruise past spectacular Bowen Falls and majestic Mitre Peak.

Day 4 :

Queenstown

Spend today exploring Queenstown.

Day 5 :

Queenstown—Franz Josef

Visit Lakes Wanaka and Hawea and view rugged West Coast scenery through Haast Pass on the way to Franz Josef Village. Overnight: Franz Josef for 2 nights

Day 6 :

Franz Josef Glacier

Today is at leisure to maybe take a scenic helicopter landing and a guided walk on the glacier (own expense) or explore this beautiful alpine region.

Day 7 :

Franz Josef—Christchurch

A highlight will be the journey to Christchurch on the TranzAlpine Train through the Southern Alps. Arrive Christchurch at approximately 6:40pm.
