Luxury Italy Honeymoon Review: Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Duomo, Palatine Hill, Pompeii, Vivaldi Concert

There were so many highlights that picking a few is difficult. Below are some of our highlights from each city:

Venice: Amongst all the cities, Venice was our favourite. Our sunset gondola ride was beautiful and simply walking in Venice was amazing. We also went to a Vivaldi concert performed by Interpreti Veneziani at the Chiesa San Vidal, which really added to whole our experience in Venice. 

Florence: The bike ride in Florence was particularly noteworthy, as we had a fantastic guide who was extremely personable and knowledgeable. Cooking class in Florence was also something different, and a lot of fun. We had the best steak of our lives in Florence at Antico Ristorante di Cambi as well! The Piazzale Michelangelo offered a spectacular view of Florence from above. The Duomo is a sight we will always remember. 

Rome: Food in Rome in general was consistently the best, including the gelato! The tour of the forum and Palatine hill was a highlight, as was simply wandering around Rome and taking in all the sites. The fact that the Largo di Torre Argentina was used as a cat sanctuary came as a pleasant surprise to us cat lovers!

Sorrento: The hotel in Sorrento, Hotel Prestige, had a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius and was another highlight, as it was for our honeymoon. Our guide took us to all the key spots along the Amalfi Coast. He was also responsible for recommending our best meal while in Italy, lunch at Trattoria e Pizzeria Cumpa Cosimo in Ravello. He really added to our experience in Sorrento. A boat ride around Capri (Organized by our hotel), was another highlight. Pompeii was fascinating as well.
