Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

This tour company was one of two travel companies recommended to us by Zicasso. We are seasoned travelers having traveled to over 65 countries in the last twenty years and although we rarely take structured tours, we did decide to have a more organized trip through Chile.

From the start, the travel representative was responsive to all our inquires and came up with some recommendations on what to see and do in Chile. We had done some research on our own so knew certain destinations to include in our itinerary.

After a few rounds of fine tuning our itinerary we settled on our trip with our travel representative.

We were then handed over to the tour company's local representative in Santiago for the duration of our trip through Chile.

There were no real hiccups in our trip, with the exception of having to cancel our visit to the Atacama due to bad weather and subsequent flooding. We were informed of the cancelation the day before we were to go to the Atacama and the local representative came up with some alternative options for us. The detail were handled seamlessly and we were quite happy with the way everything turned out, even though we missed the Atacama which was to be one of the highlights of our trip.

All in all we would most definitely recommend this tour company to anyone looking to put together a trip to Chile.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Several memorable parts to our trip.

Easter Island is certainly a great destination, and although it's a rather small island with little else to see besides the moai, it's still worth going. I doubt however that we would make a return visit. There just isn't much else beyond the statues and their history, which are no doubt spectacular, to warrant spending any more time there.

The Chilean Patagonia was probably the most enjoyable part of our trip to Chile. It lived up to everything we were expecting in the sheer beauty of the the landscapes there. The all inclusive property we stayed at in Puerto Natales was excellent, as was the small boutique property in the Lakes Area.

Some of our best memories involved the excellent guides assigned to us. We don't often do a lot of structured travel involving tours but on occasion we would hire guides independently in any particular destination. The companies this tour company used for their guides was great. In several destinations we had excellent guides which will absolutely make the difference in any outing.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Although this tour company handled only 19 days of our two month long trip, there's not a lot we would change in what this tour company had arranged for us.

Since it was our first trip to Chile, we wanted a broad palate of different things to see and do in the country. When we do go back, we may not necessarily do another fully organized trip. We will most definitely go back, if only to see the Atacama and a few other areas that have some interest for us. We would definitely not hesitate to use this tour company again to organize areas of a return trip, although we would schedule in more free time on our own.
