My 3 teenagers and I just returned from our custom-planned trip to England, Wales and Ireland and we can't say enough about our memorable experiences. As a single parent, I absolutely could not have done this without our travel agency's seamless assistance. Our travel planner obviously listened closely to me when we first spoke about what my kids and I like, what we don't, and what we're comfortable with because every single thing that was prearranged for us was spot-on. The trip was not without its trials and tribulations (i.e. my lost cell phone on day #2, last-minute change on the last day due to severe weather in our home city, etc.), but that's to be expected and those things had nothing to do with our travel agency's attentive customer service and planning. It's as if my kids and I renewed our vows as a result of this trip and I wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you for the absolutely memorable trip that you planned for us! We're all still grinning.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The cab ride around London upon our arrival was fantastic and perfect for 4 jet-lagged yet really excited people. The cab driver we had was top-notch because he was highly trained and knew everything there is to know about London. We also got a ton out of the the private walking tour of London (our guide was the best!). Our guide's personality was perfect for us and she was a lot of fun to spend a few hours with. We also thoroughly enjoyed the West End play we saw. I had mentioned to our travel planner that we were fans of Monty Python and the play was hysterical and very Monty Python-ish. We are still talking about our 2 nights in the castle in Thornbury. Wow. Another highlight was the night of storytelling in Dublin. It was a perfect first night in Dublin and it really got us into the mood for Ireland.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I would be more mentally prepared for what it's like driving in the UK. It was absolutely terrifying for me driving through the countryside of England and the mountains of Wales. However, it also made for some great stories to tell and my teenagers loved seeing me struggle with similar issues that they have as new drivers, and now I consider myself an experienced UK driver and would do it again now that I know I can survive! I think if we were to do the trip again, I might skip Portmeirion and head straight to Dublin, giving us more time in Ireland. We didn't get nearly enough time there, especially in light of our hometown weather issues that cut into the end of the trip, but I plan on using this company again when we plan on covering the rest of Ireland and Scotland. I can't imagine going without this travel planner's assistance.
