The trip to Croatia and Slovenia was fantastic! Every detail worked out by our travel agency to perfection. 17 day trip through two countries, and not a single hiccup or disappointment. And my husband and I are very detail oriented and usually plan our own trips, and have very high expectations for everything. And I’m pleased to say that this company was exceptional every step op the planning and the delivery. This travel agent really listens to what you want and like, and plans a trip very catered to your personal desires. She sends very detailed information in advance and really keeps you posted every step of the planning process. And every connection and handoff during the trip is on time, with a friendly person there for you, like they know you and want to make sure your trip is perfect. The drivers, and guides and sailing crew were all really great and enjoyable to spend time with. A special shout out to our driver! Awesome! Our travel representatives were in touch with us throughout the trip to check in that everything was going well, and always responded quickly when we wanted to make a change along the way- like change a dinner reservation or alter a tour time because we weren’t feeling well. They even kept up in our weather back home because a hurricane was hitting our home state and they offered to help us make alternate arrangements if we couldn’t get home. They are amazing. All the hotels were terrific, and the restaurants our agent recommended and reserved for us were perfect for our tastes. This agency totally exceeded our expectations. She is a rockstar! We were able to just relax and enjoy a fantastic trip.
Wow, too many to pick only a few. Each city or town we visited was unique and terrific. We started in Ljubljana,Slovenia and the Lake Bled area- great walking city along the river, and beautiful Alps region. Then most of our time spent in Croatia. We loved Rovinj and the Istria region- such a beautiful seaside city, and our most memorable dining experience at Puntulina Restaurant, with tables on rocks scattered along the sea. Plitvice National Park is a must see if you like amazing lakes and waterfalls, and boardwalk trails, unlike anything elsewhere. Split and Dubrovnik are both very special in their own right and are not to be missed, especially history buffs or Game of Thrones fans - our hotel in Dubrovnik was at the base of Cersei’s “walk of shame”. But I think the 3 1/2 day private sailing trip along the coast and through the islands -Hvar, Korcula, Mljet- was probably the most special part of the trip. It was spectacular scenery and calm seas and sunshine and so relaxing! And I was most unsure about booking that part, since I don’t sail and I usually get seasick. But we’re so happy we took a chance and did something out of our comfort zone. It will be remembered always.
I don’t think I would change any of it. It all really was so great. Maybe build in an extra day here or there where nothing was planned and we could just enjoy relaxing at the hotels by the seaside? There is some magic in just doing nothing.
