I am absolutely delighted with the service that this travel agency provided. From the first contact all the way to the conclusion of our trip, they made sure that we had an absolute seamless and amazing experience in Ecuador. The lady who worked on organizing our trip listened to me to understand our needs and built an itinerary that suited our goals. Her deep knowledge of the country helped me choose the right alternatives. As we worked to make minor adjustments, she was always available and made the changes promptly. The instant we stepped in Ecuador until we left, someone was always there to guide us. No details were left to chance. We felt totally safe and relaxed. All the choices that were made, from our hotels in Quito, to haciendas in the countryside, the cruise ship in the Galapagos and the lodge in the Amazon, were first class. All our guides, in Quito and surrounding, in the Amazon and in the Galapagos were personable, patient and very knowledgeable, with a special mention to our guide in Quito who, in all our travels, was one of the best guides we've ever had. When we went to the Galapagos, I had forgot a jacket at our hotel in Quito. Our guide picked it up, gave it to our travel agency and it was delivered to me prior to our return home. That's great service! Overall, we couldn't have been more satisfied.
Ecuador is an amazing Country, offering so much diversity that in a short period of time you can have radically different experiences. It is very hard to pinpoint a highlight as everything in this trip was great. If I had to choose, I would say that the time we spent in the Amazon was truly unique. Seeing a 7 meter (20 feet) Anaconda up close and personal is an experience you will never forget. Listening to howling monkeys as the sun rises, paddling down a river, is also something else. The fauna, the flora, the sounds of the jungle, the beauty of the surroundings, and knowing that everything you see and everything you experience is authentic, real, in the wild, is one of the best feelings I've ever had. Not that the Galapagos islands aren't beautiful either. Snorkeling among sea turtles, baby sea lions, sharks and rays is nothing to sneeze at. Neither is walking across totally bare, volcanic soil, past blue footed boobies, or marine iguanas (looking like miniature Godzilla) you could almost touch. Or hiking to almost 5,000 meters (15,000 feet) to the first refuge of Cotopaxi volcano and taking in the beautiful view. In short, every single day of our trip was a new extraordinary adventure.
I'm not sure I would change much of anything, except for some minor logistical issues. Everything was nearly perfect. My only regret is not to have brought with me an underwater camera for the Galapagos islands. I would have been able to take some amazing shots of all the exotic fish, sea turtles, sea lions, sharks, rays, etc. that you find there.
