We worked with this agent and would definitely recommend him and the company. He asked many questions, really listened to my answers, and prioritized what we wanted so we didn't waste time or money on things about which we didn't care. This is definitely the outfit to use if you want to treat yourself and have everything taken care of. They booked drivers, train tickets, hotels, guides and restaurants and everything went smoothly. There were no unpleasant surprises but several pleasant ones, including champagne waiting for us in our room on several occasions.
We mostly did walking tours and the guides were absolutely top notch. I definitely recommend using guides as they allow you to bypass the long lines. They had itineraries planned but were also very flexible (within the confines of timed entry tickets) and ready to customize our tours as we liked. When the Royal Palace in Madrid closed at the last minute so that we couldn't tour as planned, our guide came up with lovely alternatives. Thanks to this flexibility, on several occasions we were able to get into buildings before the crowds or during lulls. When we decided to change a lunch reservation to a supper one, our guide helped do that. The guides were all professional and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. They all made good recommendations for places to eat and things to do during our free times and helped us get tickets to places we wanted to visit in our free time.
The hotels and restaurants were all exactly what we wanted, beautiful and centrally located.
This was a ten day trip including Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada, Seville, Madrid and Toledo. We loved all of it so it is hard to choose a highlight! We particularly loved Granada and the Alhambra - one of my top priorities from the start. The day trip from Madrid to Toledo was something we had initially debated but were so glad we included it. The small city is a gem. Another thing we debated was using a guide for the Prado and we were very glad we took our agent's advice and did so. Our guide was knowledgeable and helped us see what we wanted to see in a museum too large to see all in one trip and she helped us into the ticketed special Hieronymus Bosch exhibit.
We tried to stick with local cuisine everywhere, took the recommendations of guides and waiters and were not disappointed. We tried a number of things we'd never tried before and we loved the Spanish wines.
We loved the laid back vibe of the places we traveled and people we interacted with were helpful, warm, friendly and welcoming - and forgiving of our bad Spanish.
We would try to squeeze in another night in Cordoba.
