Zicasso's travel partner helped me arrange a trip that I could both enjoy and afford. My hotels were clean and the food was good. Transportation from location to location was easy and painless. Tour guides were friendly and informed. My contact company in Peru was very efficient. I was both met and dropped off at each airport on time and helped to speed my way through, bypassing long lines for boarding. Tours were informative and bilingual, I felt that I was receiving all the information that I needed.
I had free days in Cusco and was unsure of what to do. I wanted to go see Qorikancha and Sacayhuaman but did not know how. Luckily I had a tour book that had a map of the city and showed me where to go to see Qorkancha.
I was upset that entry tickets to some locations had to be bought in groups. I thought that I would end up missing Sacayhuaman until a my book stated that I could see that and Tambo Machay, Puca Pucara and Qenko all in one day and a local tour guide explained to me that it only took a small ticket book to do so.
The highlight of my trip has to be Machupuicchu where I had a privet tour one day and then a free day to explore or hike on my own the next. I am still amazed that people were able to build a city up there and the degree of stone masonry accomplished with only the use other stones as tools is unbelieveable.
I took the trail to the Inca bridge and marveled at its construction. I have no idea how workmen were able to get themselves and the stones they were working with out on some of those ledges to build up the supports for a walkway.
Lake Titicaca was also quite something. The floating Islands made entirely from reeds were amazing. The people there were very friendly and fun and I also enjoyed my ride on the reed boat that was itself a marvel. Going to lunch was a bit of a "huff and puff", not too bad for me but I can see where it might be a bit much for some others.
I would have spent at least one day in Brazil, after all I was right there. I also might have spent a few days in San Salvador, as I have now changed planes there four times and never seen the country.
