Was a little apprehensive about dealing with an unknown (to me) U.S. travel agency through the Internet and living in Canada but it turned out to be a fantastic customer service experience! Our agent sent me a proposed itinerary and called me that same night and adjusted the itinerary to our preferences. Email communication was responsive and we had a final call to go over my questions. They made arrangements with a local Peruvian travel agency for all city stops and guides, which also provided very great service. A really great experience and I would recommend this company to put together a custom experience-which minimizes the stress of finding hotels, figuring out the number of days in each city and seeing the highlights.
Machu Picchu of course! The hike up Huaynu Picchu was an experience I will not forget!!
If the 4 of us, my daughter and I got altitude sickness. You never know until you get there if and how it will impact you. I am told its if you have low blood pressure-who knows but had I realized that Puno and Lake Titicaca is actually the highest elevation, I would have taken the altitude sickness pills at that time. We had brought some prescribed pills but was holding off until Cusco, during the second part of our trip. Thankfully the hotel in Puno had free oxygen available but the benefits are temporary-it really takes a few days for your body to adjust.
