I highly recommend this travel agent and his company. I have worked with them for two trips for my husband and myself. In 2014 the owner of this company worked with me to plan a four week trip to Australia and New Zealand. I am an active participant and researcher in creating a trip as our agent found out. We went back and forth many, many times. He was receptive to ideas, co-operative and uncomplaining. Four weeks before the trip I broke my ankle and my husband and I had to cancel. Our agent was gracious and there were no charges.
In October 2017 I contacted this travel agent and asked if he could help my husband and I plan a trip to New Zealand for 17 days. A bucket trip. He said he would do everything he could to make a trip happen in the ensuing short time (4 weeks during his busy season of planning) before departure - and he did even with my pages of questions about each new itinerary, suggestions for alternative hotels (which we talked through), and last minute changes. I highly recommend this company and this travel agent in particular.
Again, I want to stress that I highly recommend this agent and his company.
The guide/drivers that our travel agent arranged were fabulous! Each one had an interesting set of careers before becoming guide/drivers, were affable, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, well educated and FUN. They were keepers!
The drives between places gave us the full range from awesome, jagged awe-inspiring landscapes and lakes to gentle rolling, soothing and sweet grazing lands and hills. Very wise to have driven a lot.
Sydney - the city, the yacht at sundown, the kangaroos at Featherdale and the Blue Mountains. Queenstown fixed wing plane to Milford and cruise, safari through rivers and Lord of the Rings territory, Haputu Lodge and Tree Houses and their food, chef and waitresses, Hobbittown creativity, whimsy and spirits, dolphin cruise and gentle time watching sailboats moored in the bays, America Cup sailboat time...
We might skip Rotorua...Would not stay at the same hotel unless we could have the front room for 2 nights. We might have stayed one more day in Queenstown to go to Glenorchy. Maybe have substituted Napier and Hawkes Bay, or another place in Lake of Bays for Russell.
And I wish we had had more time.
There were two thing out of the many, many things he did for us that were not consistent with his understanding of our needs and wishes. Only two but still worth mentioning. Booking us, albeit at the last minute, into the hotel in Russell on the Bay of Islands in a room at the back of the hotel was a great disappointment. The front rooms are the only ones worth staying in. The back rooms are small, ours was the largest but still small with NO VIEW WHATSOEVER. Knowing the other hotels we had chosen, and what we like, he should not have thought we would have been well accommodated in this place and it would have been better had we been guided to an alternative location and hotel. In fairness, he did say the following before the decision to go to Russell and we did not accept his advice. We would have accepted his advice had we understood the second rate accommodation at the hotel.
He had suggested a hotel in Queenstown which we checked out and does have lovely rooms but they are dark and the walk into town is too hard for us given my condition. Luckily, he accepted our wish to switch to another hotel.
