This travel company has done an excellent job with putting together a wonderful vacation package. I'm sure the company is excellent, however, this review is centered around the travel agent that works for this company.
From the onset of communication with my agent, the experience was positive. Why? She listened! She gathered the necessary requirements from me and and proceeded to put together a draft inteniary. Moreover, she adjusted my trip as I modified my requirements. Again, she listened.
The documentation was excellent. It was presented in a manner that was easy for me to follow. The transportation and transfers were top notch. For the most part, the accommodations were first class, with the exception of the hotel in Mount Cook. My agent forewarned me that it may not be to my satisfaction. I should have listened.
For the most part the tours were great, with Uluru being the crown jewel. There were a couple of mix ups in New Zealand, but the New Zealand office worked tirelessly to rectify. Point is, you never felt as though you were left alone to fend for self, with no one to reach out to.
The mixup was also rectified via reimbursement upon my return. A painless process.
Some of the tours were a bit "touristy", but this is anywhere you go and is certainly no fault of the agent. Me. My agent's recommendations were valuable and well received.
Uluru. There are simply no words. This was recommended by my agent and she did not disappoint. Another highlight was a side trip to Brisbane that I wanted to take. I am a long time Bee Gee fan and I couldn't justify being in Australia and not visiting Brisbane. The hotel was wonderful.
Other highlights were the private city tours that this agent scheduled. The private Sydney tour, upon arrival, was spectacular.
As far as scheduling, this travel agent made sure to include some free time for me, which was invaluable. Again, she listens to the client and crafts accordingly.
I certainly would not go to Mount Cook with their "only game in town" hotel. I was literally waiting to see the twins appear with a volumous trail of blood barreling behind--think "The Shining".
I would have bypassed Mount Cook and continued onto Christchurch. I could have stayed in Christchurch a few days, just exploring this English-like town.
I would have bypassed the caves on the way to Auckland. Too touristy, at least for me. There was another tour that I could have taken on the same route to Auckland that I probably should have done.
I would have extended my stay in Sydney and ventured out into the surrounding areas. The same for Melbourne and Auckland. I would have added Perth and Alice Springs. Not enough time and not enough money.
