My husband and I went to Thailand on our honeymoon and worked with this agent for our travel plans. This was the most amazing trip we have every taken. From the start, our agent was attentive, knew just what we wanted, and listened to our needs. We told her that we are a fun couple who likes to explore, go out and see the night-life, be adventurous, and see everything we could while we were there. She worked with us to customize our trip until it was perfect. She felt with all of my billions of questions, was quick to respond back, and if she didn't know the answer to something she found out the answers and got back to me with an answer right away. The trip was fabulous! - we started by going to bangkok to see the floating markets, the train market, the coconut farms, and the grand palace. The next day we went to Chang Mai and did a cooking class (OMG what a blast! way over exceeded my husbands and my expectations), then we had a birthday dinner that night which was set up by the company at a local restaurant, we went zip lining, rode elephants, saw the long-neck tribes, went to the Loy Krathong festival. Next we went to Phuket and Phi Phi islands. Phuket we took a sunset cruise that lasted the whole day. We never would have known this was possible to do if it wasn't set up by our travel company. In phi phi we stayed at the Zeavola resort! (anyone going to Phi Phi HAS to stay there!). Everything was set up by this company and they did a wonderful job! the trip was completely customized for us and we re-worked the itinerary over a few months. The company is straight forward from the start. No hidden fees or "bad recommendations" of things to do. We would highly recommend booking with this company for your trip!
This is the hardest question because my husband and I go back and forth between everything we liked most. I loved the cooking class and the zip lining. My husband loved the sunset cruise and seeing the caves as well as the zip lining. We also loved the elephants and the resort in Phi Phi as well as the Loy Krathong Festival. There really isn't' anything we didn't like. We kept talking about, "if we had to remove one thing from our trip, what would it be?" and the answer is that we couldn't remove anything. We did so many amazing things that we could never do in Florida that we can't pick just one thing we liked better over another.
One thing I would do differently is have the travel agents tell the tour guides in Thailand what the couple is like before they get there. For example, the tour guide in Chang Mai was VERY attentive, and very engaged… but almost a little too overbearing. When we went to see the elephants, he insisted that he come with us into the park. We continued to tell him that we could go alone and wanted some space. However he came with us and followed us around. Also, when we went to dinner, he came into the restaurant with us and stayed at a table by the front. It was almost as if we had a parent chaperone on our honeymoon. We also cancelled the guide taking us to the festival one night since it didn't make sense that he was going to pick us up from our hotel just to drop us off downtown. We didn't want to be ready at the time he told us because we were having fun by the pool. We called him and told him that we would find our own ride down town. We reiterated to him multiple times to not pick us up and to enjoy the night with his family (we thought we were doing him a favor by not having him pick us up). He finally understood and told us to enjoy the night and that he would see us tomorrow to pick us up for the airport. At 5:30 that same night, the hotel called up to our room to tell us that the guide was there to take us to the festival. My husband and I weren't ready and we told him not to come but he showed up anyways to take us. We told him we weren't ready and he waited for 45 mins for us to get ready. We felt horrible for it and a little uncomfortable since we asked him not to come. It's not really anything that could have been changed with the trip itself since he was just doing his job and making sure we were taken care of. However, it may be nice if the travel agents asked the travelers if they like more space on their trip or if they want to be "guided" and assisted more. I could see someone who is older really liking the attentiveness. However, we were younger newlyweds who wanted a bit more space.
