Many years ago, we talked about taking a “dream” vacation to Italy, specifically the Tuscany area. As the years went by, we decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary by going for an overdue three-week vacation and include Spain in our itinerary. On a recommendation, we reached out to Zicasso and we were quickly contacted by a travel agent with this company. After a few interviews with our agent, we were presented with a very exciting itinerary that was custom-made specifically for our interests. Our itinerary included multiple destinations, medium sized group tours and a few private ones. We also had a farm to table experiences as well as private cooking lessons. For this vacation we were going to need three different hotels, one long stay villa, two rental cars and one flight (we arranged our own initial flight to and from Europe).
Before we left for our trip, our agent mailed us everything and anything we could have needed. Our rental car vouchers, hotel reservations, airline tickets, recommended restaurants and sites, all with detailed maps. We also had a nice booklet that had all our tour guide vouchers with instructions on where to meet and even how long it would take to get to those meeting points.
Our agent also supplied us with walking maps of all our destinations, translator books, driving guides and even recommended tipping amounts for different services. We requested drivers to pick us up at the airport and we had a few drivers for some of the excursions. All the drivers were on time, professional and had extremely clean vehicles. All the tour guides were fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and all could speak very good English.
We had a situation in which we needed some assistance while in Europe. We contacted our agent who responded immediately with the information we needed.
The trip exceeded our expectations and so did our agent. She absolutely nailed us as far as fulfilling what we wanted for our vacation.
Too many to list. The farm to table experiences we had in the Catalan area near Barcelona Spain will never be forgotten, but the most enjoyable part was living the Tuscan lifestyle. Waking up and having a small cappuccino every morning with a small pastry, then walking the small streets of Sienna or Florence, then maybe going to a museum or window shopping and just seeing the friendly people of Italy will never be forgotten. Enjoying pasta during the afternoon next to a 500-year-old building is impossible in Los Angeles. In the evening, sitting in a piazza having a drink and watching all the people having a good time would wrap up our evenings.
There are two things we would have done differently. Flying to Europe and experiencing the jet lag, it probably would have been best to not schedule a full day walking tour the day after we arrived. We simply ran out of gas by the end of the day skipped the last portion of the tour.
The other thing we would do different would be to only purchase a one-way ticket so we would not have to return! Thank you so much to our agent for your fantastic customer service. You are exceptional and we will definitely use Zicasso once again.
