Our travel agent and his team did an excellent job. We love the staff, they made great suggestions for us, and our liaison in-country was incredibly responsive (and a lovely person). The hotels they suggested were stylish, warm, and just right. They "got" what we were looking for when planning and delivered. This was our first trip to S. America and we fell in love with it and will be back and we'd use this company without hesitation when returning.
Patagonia is awe inspiring and the absolute highlight.
Do the glacier day.
We were charmed by Colonia (one day is enough) and Montevideo. Worth the stop there. Had a terrific tasting and lunch at a winery outside of Montevideo. Highly recommend it.
Recoleta Cemetery in BA was amazing (sounds weird, I know).
Asked for business class options on the internal flights. As tall people, the seating was torture.
Keep low expectations on food. In the cities, options are great. Beef and lamb are ubiquitous, but after that the fall off is pretty steep, especially in Patagonia. We'd have killed for great salads by the end of the trip. Small complaint.
