Everything was excellent. The tour company was insanely prompt and the guides were excellent. The transfers and attention of the guides was exceptional.
There was a little confusion with one the excursions at the end of the trip was seemed easily resolved and the day was perfect and enjoyed by all.
I would have preferred staying at the Marriott in Cusco, but since the trip was booked in September, rooms were not available for our dates and we had to stay another hotel instead which was definitely not the caliber of the Marriott but it was adequate.
I would highly recommend this travel company.
The mountain biking was amazing!! I am a road cyclist and occasional mountain biker and the support and the knowledgeable guides made the trip excellent. The White water rafting trip was private and they provided perfect wetsuits and clothing so that we weren't all freezing at the end of the trip. These two excursions were the best part of the trip. The back riding was nice -- I like to trot but the children were apprehensive and they loved just being on the horses and it could have been dangerous since they do not have the riding experience that I do. the loved the riding and the Light / water park in Lima as well.
Children/ teenagers can not handle 3 hours tours. I found the tour in Cusco very informative, just an hour too long the kids were being tortured in the last hour and could not wait for it to be over. The same thing with the Macchu Pichu tour, I enjoyed it immensely and the guide was excellent and the history fascinating, but it was hot, the kids were exhausted and dehydrated and miserable after an hour. A one hour tour with some pictures would have been plenty. My daughter threw up on the bus back and in the hotel and was sick for the rest of the night. A combination between the altitude and the heat. I would just ask the tour guide to cut things short, but I'm sure they were just doing their jobs with a full complete informative tour. Otherwise, everything else was perfect.
I would have stayed 2 nights at the Cusco also. The casita was one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed. It could have been done but we had asked to go back to Cusco on New Year's Eve so logistically it did not work out.
