It was our first experience/ trip abroad and I would recommend this Italy travel agency to anyone looking to travel and explore. Our agency took our initial plans and molded a very detailed and well thought out itinerary through Rome, Florence, a not-to-be-missed Pietrasanta, Verona and of course Venice. From the moment we landed in Rome, we were treated as VIP guests by our tour guides and hotel staff. Our wishes were met through this agency's meticulous planning and attention before and during our trip. Our hotels were exceptional and in locations off the beaten path, but near enough to sites, local restaurants, cafes and wine bars to make us feel right at home and allow us to walk as much or as little as we wanted. The air/rail/car transfers were smooth and seamless. Our itinerary included several guided and private tours, but left us (as we wanted) plenty of time to explore on our own. Our immediate plans is to return to Italy and explore other areas of this wonderful country (although it will be difficult not to return to Tuscany as part of any further trip).
I knew our trip was well planned, but I didn't realize how well until I was behind another couple checking out of our hotel in Rome. It seems they were under the impression the hotel costs were included in their pre-paid package, but they were not. Based on previous conversations and e-documents I had in hand, I was 100% confident our trip would be stress-free with regard to what was previously paid for and where we were on our own. My wife and I felt we were educated, well-prepared travels free to enjoy the history, art, science and culinary wonders of Italy.
Your overall comments on ZicassoI was a bit skeptical when I submitted our plans to Zicasso. My concerns were quickly eased when I began the discussions and set the eventual itinerary with the selected travel company.
Shall I tell you about the best chicken soup in the world in Pietrasanta (don't tell my mother)? Or the lasagna in Verona again, don't tell mom)? Walking as if through a dream by the Coliseum? The paintings of the Sistine Chapel (which wouldn't have been nearly as wonderful without our travel agency's provided tour)? The Statue David? The Roman bridge of Verona? Watching the Maestro blow glass at Murano on Venice? The water taxi through the Main Canal? My wife and I created so many memorable moments, it is difficult to pick only a few. One aspect of our trip I share most is the proximity of our hotel to the many sights. Off the beaten path, but near enough to stroll through the ancient alley ways, by local eateries, wine bars and historic structures.
Aside from making our trip longer, we would have been more persistent in circling back to find what we guessed would be the "best pizza". It was a corner shop down the street from a quaint wine bar. We never found it and ate elsewhere - the meal was still amazing.
