This agent and his team were truly amazing. Very personalized and boutique service provided from start to finish with immaculate attention to detail and most importantly FLAWLESS execution. From the start of our planning (this was for our honeymoon and we are a same-sex couple), our agent spoke with us on the phone to get an idea of what we were looking for and then over the course of a few weeks we crafted an amazing 10 day adventure in Italy. He suggested the best hotels (we were looking to splurge as it was our honeymoon) and he was right on with those suggestions. We also wanted to ensure we have very professional tour guides for our private guided tours and they were certainly professional and very lovely. Everyone was so welcoming and knowledgeable. We learned so much out both Ancient Italy (including the Roman empire) and more modern aspects as well. We really got a taste of la dolce vita and can't wait to go back. The thing that got me with the trip was the attention to detail. From the moment we landed, our agent's point person in Italy was working behind the scenes to ensure we had a smooth arrival (calling our driver, coordinating arrivals, speaking to him, speaking to us to make sure we were okay and if we needed anything). Then during each daily excursion he made sure to check in the tour guides and other staff to ensure we were okay and on-track without being obtrusive (most of this was done without my knowledge). It was really a class act and we loved Italy so much and our experience with this company so much we can't wait to go back next year.
We really enjoyed staying at our resort hotel in Positano. It is arguably the best hotel on the Amalfi Coast. We really enjoyed our trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius, our private boat trip to Capri and tour around the Amalfi Coast, and of course our tour of the Vatican and Ancient Rome. Another memorable experience was our private cooking class in a private rooftop cooking gallery in Rome.
I would have stayed a few days longer and maybe not tried to cram so much in to each day. Some days we had a morning excursion and then an afternoon excursion. While this seemed aggressive to me at the outset it was my wish because I wanted to see as much as possible, in retrospect, I probably should have stayed a few extra days and just taken a slower pace. However, I have no regrets. Now that we are more familiar with the area, we plan to go back and this time take more a leisurely approach to our next visit. We learned and experienced so much, we can't wait to back and explore some more, this time with a great baseline knowledge of the area.
