Our experience with this travel agency was nothing short of astounding. They offered great ideas, listened to our preferences, crafted a delightful tour, and staying in daily touch with us all during our visit to Germany by providing us with a German iPhone.
For my grandson, the first day in Munich was his favorite. We climbed to the roof of the Olympic stadium, bicycled in the English Garden had our first German lunch at the Chinese Beer Garden - and hardly noticed our jet lag! For me, it was the private guided tour of Newshcwanstein Castle - we were the only tour group in the building! For my husband, it was his visit to Dresden.
Our tour company suggested driving on the Romantic Road. We quickly found that it would take about 6 hours of tedious driving to get to our destination. I would either stay somewhere along the road or take the autobahn directly to Rothenburg to have more time to walk the city.
What I wish the company would do differently is to remind Americans that you frequently must "pay to pee" - always have 50 cent or 1 Euro coins on you. Make sure you know whether restaurants take credit cards. We learned after spending more than 100 E on a meal that we had to pay in cash, meaning we had to find an ATM. Both of these places were suggested by and reserved by our agency. If we had known in advance we could have chosen another place or brought sufficient cash with us.
