Our travel company did a fantastic job and would HIGHLY recommend them! Our agents were amazing. I interviewed a number of travel agents before deciding on this company. I chose them because of their knowledge and ability to give a customized trip for our family. Our agents asked lots of questions to determine what we wanted to do on our three week vacation to AU & NZ with my husband and two children ages 14 & 12. One suggestion that I did not learn of through my research was Kangaroo Island. Our agent said it was a highlight for her child and it was perfect - an Australian safari - lots of kangaroo, koala, birds, seals and more. They did a great job communicating throughout the entire process. There team in Australia and New Zealand were also amazing offering quick responses for any questions.
Our trip was jammed packed with 12 flights, 3 countries, 9 airports, 8 hotels and approximately 34,000 miles traveled. We traveled from the US to Sydney, Queenstown NZ, Melbourne, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Port Douglas/Cairns, Sydney and back home to Florida. We felt the trip was perfectly planned out. With that much travel so much could have gone wrong & anticipated likely there would be some flight problems. Luckily only one flight cancelation, but our agent & team were great with assisting with the travel insurance claim (highly recommend getting travel insurance well worth the money and peace of mind) and everything worked out well.
Our trip was like five vacations all in one as each stop was so exciting and different. Sydney highlights included Opera House, Bondi Beach, Blue Mountains tour, Sunday outdoor market, Sydney Harbour Bridge and walking around. We stayed at a hotel that was very nice and great location. Queenztown, NZ was absolutely breathtaking. Highlights included skiing, luge/alpine slide, eating Fergurger (for breakfast lines were too long for dinner - yummy) and the hotel had amazing views & highly recommend. I wish we had more time to spend a week in NZ. Melbourne - we stayed at hotel with a great location. Highlights included a full day tour of the Great Ocean Road (including helicopter flight) - truly breath taking. Our guide was great. The Penguin Parade was also a highlight. Kangaroo Island tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and amazing. We saw so many kangaroo, koala, birds, seals, beautiful landscapes and more. It was a very special few days. Lastly, Port Douglas highlights included two days snorkeling/diving the Great Barrier Reef, we saw so many beautiful fish, turtles, sharks and whales. We spent a day on the Daintree Tour which included the rainforest, gorge, and Aboriginal cultural experience - fantastic! Port Douglas is a very nice town.
We highly recommend traveling in July. It worked out perfectly for us. I nice break from the hot weather during the hot Florida summer. Yet, shorts and comfortable weather to snorkel at the reef.
Spend a few more days in New Zealand. In Port Douglas stay in the main town area. The shuttle service was convenient, but costly for a family of four.
