Our agent did a wonderful job putting together our fantastic 15-day trip to Argentina in January. This was a surprise Christmas gift for my wife, and contrary to my normal practice of planning big trips months ahead, this was a last-minute decision, so our agent only had a month to work out all the details. She listened attentively to my desires, asked appropriate questions and made suggestions about all particulars of the trip, including itinerary, hotels, restaurants, flights, etc. This was a luxury vacation, but nevertheless I had some budgetary considerations, and my agent suggested ways to reduce the cost without taking away from the experience. She followed through timely on all her commitments and was very detail-oriented. It's obvious that her knowledge of South America, and Argentina in particular, is extensive.
The trip itself was truly outstanding and memorable. We visited Buenos Aires, Mendoza, El Califate and Bariloche. Argentina is such a beautiful and diverse country, and my wife and I enjoyed all of the various experiences. We were very happy with our local private guides in each city. They were extremely knowledgeable about their respective areas, were engaging and friendly and we really came to know them as friends.
In summary, I would highly recommend this travel agency for anyone who is interested in a custom private trip, and would encourage everyone who has not experienced Argentina to consider it for their next foreign vacation.
There were so many memorable experiences that would be difficult to list them all. Some that immediately come to mind are biking through Buenos Aires, sipping marvelous Malbecs at winery tours in Mendoza, kayaking though beautiful mountain lakes in Bariloche, and perhaps most especially, trekking Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia. All of our accomodations throughout the trip were truly outstanding. And I would be remiss if I did not mention the food. Argentina is a foodies paradise. Wonderful beef, great seafood and fantastic Italian food. We only had one bad meal on our trip, at one of the restaurants at the Llao Llao resort in Bariloche (ironically, it was at their high-end restaurant; the food and service at their other restaurant was outstanding).
I can't think of anything I would change. Next time I would visit other places that we weren't able to get to this time. Argentina is a large country, and the variations in climate from north to south are such that it's not easy to see everything during the same trip. We hit most of the highlights this time, but next time we would like to visit Iguazu Falls, Cordoba and Salta.
