The trip was great, even with cloudy weather, some rain, and even a typhoon the last night we were there . Our tour guide was waiting for us at the Tokyo airport when we arrived. There were six of us in our group, which I think is the perfect number for this tour. We had a van to drive us around, and with six of us it brought the price down per person. Our guide checked us into our hotel, which was nice. We were only responsible for our dinners, everything else was covered in our package. At 9 am every morning our guide picked us up at our hotel for our tour of Tokyo. We got to see so much, that by the end of the day we were beat. Tokyo is a great city and our guide's knowledge of the city and language really helped us, especially when shopping. Spent one day driving out to Mount Fuji, very enjoyable. After three nights in Tokyo, we were picked up at our hotel and taken to the train station for our bullet train trip to Kyoto. The company had a person who went along with us to make sure we got to the right train, and took us to our seats. Waiting for us in Kyoto at the train station was our next tour guide. Again we had a van to shuttle us around. Like our first guide, this one was a great guide who knew the history and again spoke the language. We saw many things over the next few days in Kyoto, Nara, and finally Osaka. The last day of our trip they drove us to the Osaka airport and checked us into our hotel, which is in walking distance of the airport. We left Japan the next day. This company was really all together, and everything went smoothly. They were flexible to our needs, and made every effort to make our vacation enjoyable. Can't say enough about our two guides, they were both great.
I usually don't like big crowded cities, but Tokyo was totally cool. Bright lights and neon signs, clean, crazy but organized. Totally enjoyed it. The food! Every day for lunch we went to a different type of restaurant and tried something new. The company did a great job in picking the restaurants. The bullet train, really enjoyed it. Again, our tour guides, both great in their own ways. Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka are all great cities to visit, each different in their own way.
Nothing really. We had limited time for this trip, and in eight days we saw a lot, but we never felt rushed.
