We spent 26 days in Italy. We planned the first three days on our own and this travel agency planned the remaining days. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The majority of our accommodations were superior. The travel agency scheduled many amazing tours and activities. We loved the vast majority of tour guides and drivers. We had problems with one tour and our travel agency refunded our money and rescheduled us for a private tour at no charge to us. We only had one other tour guide that we were not so fond of. Again everyone else was so professional, funny and exceptionally knowledgeable.
I highly recommend this company. I think the more you tell this company about your likes and dislikes the better they are able to serve you. As an example we like a quite, clean, safe and comfortable place to stay that offers the opportunity to socialize with other travelers. This travel agency will do everything they can to find the right place and the right activities for you. I will use this company again.
We loved our hotels in Florence, The Cinque Terra (our favorite), Rome and our apartment in Positano the most.
Our favorite activities include the Chianti Wineries, The Rome Food Tour ( I wish I could do this tour every day), Our cooking class in Positano, and our amazing hike of The Path of the Gods.
We really loved our tour guide. He provided us wonderful conversation and excellent tours of the Chianti wineries. We also enjoyed our barbecue in the vineyard. Our tour guide for the hike of The Path of the Gods was also amazing. Our Roman Food Tour Guides were both incredible. Our Chef tour guide taught us so much about Italian food and the Architect was so smart and funny.
We were very happy with the following: City Tour in Florence, Siena/San Gimignano Excursion, Vatican Tour, Colosseum tour, Catacombs tour, Naples Underground tour, Underwater Baia Ruins and Phlegrean Fields, Capri Boat Tour, and Amalfi Drive. We also appreciate the people selected to drive us from one destination to another. They not only drove us but they also offered so much information and history of the areas we drove through.
We walked the Cinque Terra on our own and loved this activity as well. It took us 8 hours but we felt so much accomplishment when we were done. Also, on our own, we spent our last night in Rome having dinner at a Michelin Star Restaurant overlooking Rome. It was amazing. I mention these because both were so special.
WE also love the staff at this travel agency. They were available, helpful and responsive.
I would not have stayed so long in Naples. We did not like the hotel. This hotel is very uncomfortable. There is nothing going on inside the hotel. At breakfast they put food out and if someone takes all the fruit, as an example, they do not bring more. There isn't a comfortable chair in your room. Once I called our travel agency the hotel did move us to a better room but still this hotel was not our favorite. The Naples City Tour and Pizza Making maybe was more than we should have done in Naples. We loved the tour guide but the tour was very similar to the tour we took the day before. The Pizza Making was not a real pizza making class. It was very superficial.
We also would not have gone to Portofino. This town is a real tourist trap. The tour guide was one of the two guides who we thought were not very good. The food in Portofino was terrible and overpriced. This was the worst meal we had on our trip and the most expensive. Our tour guide recommended the restaurant and made it sound like we were privileged to eat there. When we got there the restaurant had many vacant tables. I think he got a free lunch and we got taken.
