This company was a fantastic agency to go through! My husband and I were busy planning our wedding, and didn't have the time or energy to invest in also planning our honeymoon (especially as neither of us had ever been to Italy). Our travel agency learned about who we are, our interests, places we wanted to go, etc. and crafted a beautiful personalized itinerary for us. This itinerary included flight information, a mixture of tours/ history/ art/ culture, and a mixture of time to relax and enjoy the simple moments of just being married. Our agent planned our route in the most efficient way- so that we were able to make the most out of each day of the trip. It was the honeymoon of a lifetime- and we are so grateful for the experience and memories made on that trip!
How much time do you have? Honestly, it was all incredible! We started our trip in Positano, which is breathtaking. We ate at La Tagliata one night, which I 100% RECOMMEND!! It was the best meal of our trip and such an incredible spot to visit. Prior to our transfer to catch a train to Florence, we toured Pompeii, which wound up being one of our favorite tours. The history and how well the city has been preserved is incredible. This was a tour that our travel agency added into our itinerary as a recommendation, and we are so glad they did! Seeing the David masterpiece in Florence was also pretty inspiring. I loved Florence, because it was a great blend of history, art, shopping and great restaurants. It was busy, but charming and not at all overwhelming. We rented a car from Florence, and headed to Cortona. I'd say Cortona was probably my favorite place we stayed. The rolling hills and random midieval towns were a lot of fun to visit. Shout out to our hosts- they were adorable- and we had so much fun at their cooking class. We also took a tour through Chianti, and visited Tenuta Casanova. My husband and I love food, wine, gardening/ agriculture and animals... and this place had it all! They made olive oil, balsamic vinnaigrettes, gorgeous wines, lotions and potions... and had dogs that they hunted for truffles with. We tasted recipes featuring their products, and our driver literally had to drag us out of there (otherwise we would have stayed all day)! We finished our trip in Rome, which was also incredible. We had a lengthy tour of the Vatican (an overwhelming amount of art)- but were able to see the Basillica of St. Peter and the Sistine Chapel. That was incredible... there are no words beyond that! We also toured the Colosseum- and our guide was a little brainiac! She knew everything- and her enthusiasm was totally contagious. We finished our time in Rome with a Food Tour. I almost wish we would have started out with this tour, because it showed us around the city- and showed us places we otherwise would not have known to go. It gave me a deeper appreciation for Rome (beyond just the tourist spots and all of the history).
We would have skipped the "fishing trip" we went on. This was in Sorrento- and besides the miscommunication of what we signed up for, not many people at the Marina spoke English... and it just wound up being kind of forgettable compared to everything else we did. Being on the water was wonderful... but we would have rather taken a boat taxi to Capri or done something on our own that day. We probably would have also wanted a bit more time in Florence- it's difficult to see all there is to see in 2 nights.
