Our agent and her team took our vision for our 30th anniversary trip to Italy and made it a reality. No detail was overlooked and every service, tour and hotel was exceptional. All of our questions before the trip were answered promptly and professionally. We had just the right amount of private and semi-private planned activities, but still time to explore on our own. Having all vouchers and information delivered before the trip made it so easy and we were able to simply enjoy the best of Italy without having to worry about any of the details. We just can’t say thank you enough to all of the team at this company for making this a trip of a lifetime. We plan to take a trip to Greece in the future and know that the team at this travel agency is who we will be contacting to make it happen!
In Venice, we stayed at a beautiful hotel and our room had a gorgeous balcony view of the harbor. The small group secret itinerary tour of the Doge’s Palace was outstanding and the guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The Gondola ride was lovely and wandering through the maze of streets and canals gave us the opportunity to see all the best of Venice. The Italo Club Class train ride to Florence was the perfect way to travel and going 300kph was something to experience. The hotel in Florence was beautiful and our room had a gorgeous view overlooking the Arno and up to the Piazzale Michelangelo in the distant hills. The private guide we had for our walking tour of the city was a joy and her extensive knowledge of the artworks and the city allowed us to learn so much about Florence and the museums that we would not have discovered on our own. The artworks were spectacular and the statue of David was breathtaking. We took her recommendation of a small Trattoria for dinner and the food was so good and the staff so charming that we went back again on our second night for another wonderful meal. Visiting the Boboli gardens first thing in the morning the next day meant we rarely saw another person for the first hour and it was truly beautiful. While not on the typical tourist itinerary, we also visited the Stibbert Museum on the outskirts of Florence and were guided through the massive collection of arms and armor as well as thousands of other unique pieces of the collection. The private driver we had from Florence to Rome was wonderful and his passion for the Tuscany area came through as he guided us through the countryside and vineyards. The stop in San Gimignano was amazing and the wine tasting and lunch at Sant Appiano Winery made the trip even more special. In Rome we stayed at a hotel with a delightful staff and a prime location for walking to attractions or getting to Metro transportation. While scheduled for a small group tour of the Colosseum and Forum, we ended up with a private tour of the Colosseum and Forum and again, had a guide that was a wealth of knowledge as she walked us through ancient ruins. The twilight Trastevere food tour allowed us to experience a variety of wonderful foods and wines, and visiting a wine cellar that was a 150 years older than the Colosseum was the highlight. Lastly, the nighttime Segway tour was a blast and a wonderful and fun way for us to experience some of the sights that we wouldn’t have had time to get to otherwise.
We can’t think of a thing we would do differently other than being able to have more time to experience all there is to see and do!
