The travel company was excellent in every way.. I think it's important to know what you want to get out of your trip and make sure your travel expert understands up front what your expectations are.. My family of 4 (two girls ages 8&10) traveled around the golden triangle and had an awesome time.. Not only were the locations what I dreamed but the guides didn't waste time taking up my time with shopping trips. I expressed to my agent that I wanted to experience the history and culture of India and that could not be captured in stores.. I think it's important to note to make sure your guides understand your expectations as well because the stores give them a "kick back" or a percent of your sales. So it's also important that when you meet with the guide you express this as well because the message may not have made it to the multiple guides that interact with you.. Reverting back to the travel company they were excellent in every way even when I was not happy with one of my hotel locations they called the hotel manager and expressed my disappointment from which my family and I were quickly upgraded to a suite. When I tell you customer service was superb for the agency I am not exaggerating.. They called me daily using my tour guides phone to make sure I was living and experiencing my desired trip..They personally escorted us to the airport through the check in process and I felt safe in every way.
The Taj Mahal was a superb location we learned about the history of the area and why such magnificence was built.
If I could take the trip again I would make sure that I was more expressive telling the tour company what kind of guide that I required in each city (personality, relatability, good with children, etc.).. My guides were all great except 1, but those odds were pretty good 1 out of 4 to 5 isn't bad..

As per your review, you had unpleasant experience with one of the guides who served you in India. We regret the inconvenience caused because of this. Our team was just investigating the matter and has following things to comment:
1. Shopping Issue of Guides: We investigated this matter and came to know that only one guide asked whether you would like to visit a store and the reply was yes. Please note that it is a very common practice in India and South-east Asia where the guides ask the guests whether they would like to visit a Carpet Store/ Marble factory etc. It is only after the client's approval, the client is taken to that place. If you are not willing to go to such places then you can reject this proposal of the guide. All our guides are given a strict rider of not forcing our clients for shopping. Please note that when we had multiple phone conversations during your trip, this issue was never raised else we would have resolved this immediately for you.
Steps Taken to eliminate the issue:
1. We shall send a separate document to all our clients saying this explicitly - “ Our Company takes great efforts in selecting the best guides for the trip. The guides are personally vetted by our team and educated to offer great service to you. But, you may encounter instances where guides may propose you to visit local Carpet Stores/ Marble Factories/ Artisan factory etc., which will also turn out to be shopping stores. If you do not wish to do shopping from such stores then you can politely reject the Guide’s offer. If any of the tour personnel or guide is adamant then you can contact our helpline and we shall resolve the issue. Our is completely against any forced shopping and does not earn any kick-back/ commission out of this”
2. We are compiling a list of top guides in each city for which past clients have rated 5 star. We shall endeavour to have only such guides for our future clients trips. We shall educate them further and tell them to make their experience special, especially when dealing with children and families.
