This was our first trip to Europe as a family and we used this travel company for their service. After talking with their agent over the phone to discuss what kind of trip we were looking for, he put together a package that covered transportation, and a variety and some activities. As we were traveling with older adults and a pregnant wife, we were looking for a trip that was a little more leisurely, but also has some tours/activities that were planned out for us. Our agent did his best to help us come to that balance and i never got the sense that he was trying to upsell us on something we weren't interested in. He seemed very honest and upfront about what he thought would and wouldn't work for us.
There was a mix up with one of our pick ups as well as meeting place for one of our activities, but it was more the fault of the service providers and not our travel company. They weren't seriously inconvenient but they did put a little bump in the trip. However, our agent did apologize and was more than accommodating and made it up to us. We realize things do happen, and were impressed by the way the handled our problems. Keep in mind this was during a time when they had vacated their office due to a hurricane.
We stayed in an apartment in Paris and Hotels in Italy. They were all mixed bags but overall fairly nice. We did have to get used to the size of the apartment as its much smaller than we Americans are used to. All of the places they picked out for us were in really good areas though. Every hotel was easily accessible to shopping, food, etc. If we did not stay in any of our locations im pretty sure we would have traveled to them anyways. This made our stays really convenient.
The activites that our agent picked out for us was a good mix of touristy as well as things that seemed to be more curated towards our interests (food). He checked all the boxes for the older as well as the younger travelers while still giving us free time to explore on our own. We all enjoyed the activities and were actually surprised at how much more enjoyable some of them were.
If i were to give any critiques to improve, it would only be to provide a little more information on what some of the activities entail so you can be prepared.
Just the sight of all the architecture in france and italy is breathtaking. There was a dinner cruise on the seine in Paris that was much more enjoyable that we expected. We had some really good private guides in italy that really explained the historical details and nuances that you typically wouldnt get in larger group tours. Our food tour in rome was the mix up with the meetup, but once everything was back on track we had an amazing time and amazing guide.
After being there once, i think it gives us a better idea of what we would want to see. I would curate more specific areas to visit and things to do. We only went to 4 cities in 2 weeks and it still wasnt enough time!
