We really enjoyed working with this travel agent. He was responsive, friendly, thorough and worked with us until we had an itinerary we were completely comfortable with up until just a day before we left. He understood our priorities and created a trip we will remember forever.
Patagonia, as expected, was amazing. The landscape was spectacular and we thought the Patagonia Camp was absolutely perfect for us. It was luxurious but not stuffy, the staff was amazing, food was great and guides were excellent.
We were very impressed by the hotels, which added to the charm of the whole experience. We had a great time exploring Santiago (definitely more than anticipated) and really liked having the opportunity to stay one night in the Lastarria neighborhood and another in the Providencia neighborhood. The food scene was incredible!
We were totally blown away by how much we loved Valparaiso; both my husband and I thought it would be a cute city but more of a stopover, but it was a definite highlight of the trip. We took a street art tour to start our day and that helped us see the city for the remainder of our visit in a whole new light. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city on our own via the various street elevators and thought the many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, bars, and galleries were irresistible. The food was great, weather beautiful and culture so unique; we as a result have recommended Valparaiso to many of our friends old and young.
As mentioned, we didn't think we would enjoy Valparaiso as much as we did so we had asked our agent to cut our visit there short in favor of an extended tour through the Casablanca Wine Valley/ earlier return to Santiago. This was our fault, not our travel agent's, and we wish we stuck with his original itinerary or just had more time on our own in Valparaiso unscheduled. Instead, we were picked up seemingly at the crack of dawn for a wine tour, arrived before it opened, and were tasting wine by 9am (a little early even by our standards). The day seemed drawn out (8:30am -5 or so) when we probably would have been happy with 3 or 4 hours max. We also didn't need a driver AND a guide and felt a little cramped; we also would have preferred to cut down on costs here.
