You'll be glad to read that both Tom and I have left Australia and Tom is home in BKK, while I will be spending the next 2 weeks in wintry Holland.I really want to thank you for the outstanding job you did in organizing our trip and tours. Most of our adventures went without a glitch and overall we had "a smooth sailing" and a wonderful time. Highlights were without a doubt the 3 days Great Ocean Road, very well organized by our tour company, with a very knowlegable guide, and our Kangaro Island tour.Although it was a very long day, the pinguinwalk was an unforgettable event, more so because of the walibi hopping over the beach and disturbing the pinguins while obviously waiting for our applause!I must really recommend this tour company for their service and honesty, as I had forgotten my purse in the (rather uncomfortable) bus that night @ 1.30, and only noticed it the following morning when we were almost leaving Melbourne for Appollo Bay. The purse had been found, but had been taken home with the guide and driver, and the office of the tour company organized for it to be taken to our hotel in Appollo Bay that same day! Fantastic, as all my money and almost all of my cards were in there!A few minor points: The Great Ocean Road tour wasn't the one we had wanted (the one with the wine tasting after lunch) and when we noticed that, we were unable to change it. Very rigid of tour bus company as it was the same bus that left us in the animal shelter then went on to the wine tasting and could have taken us easily. Even calling with their office didn't help. The lunch itself had no wine tasting, but there was wine on the table (without label or year and no explanations)We would have liked to be in hotels that were more in the centre of town when in Melbourne and Alice Springs, although I doubt there was anything suitable in this last city. Over all, the hotels were good enough, but very unpersonal and the restaurants enormous and very different from what we are used to, but that of course is one of the boons of travelling. The Blue Mts. tour on our last day was kind of a deception. The guide reminded us often that it was on his day off, and proceeded with changing the programme to "evade the crowds", which resulted in our visiting the Featherdale Park in the morning and having to walk this nice enough parķ shuffling between prams and crowds of children on this special discounted day. Of course it wasn't his fault that the weather was lousy and that we only could see mist on the first 2 stops in the BM, and only a vague sight of the 3 sisters, but that cleared up later. We celebrated Australian Day on the harbour again with beautiful fireworks displays amongst the crowds later that evening. When it was time to leave the next afternoon, however, my itinerary indicated that I would be picked up on 1.20 pm and I was down from my room @ 1.10 pm with all my luggage, only to be told that the driver had been there @ 1 pm sharp and had left @ 1.05A phone call to the office didn't bring a solution, as they didn't have another car available within an hour and said that their appointment was @ 1.00 pm. So I took a cab instead, which resulted in an unexpected expenditure of $68,-All in all however there were far more wonderful experiences than slights, so again I want to compliment you on your job well done!Thank you very much for your help and unwavering assistance, I am afraid that my budget in the next 2 years won't be sufficient for another trip to Down Under, but I know where to find you when I need you and will most certainly recomnend you might the chance arise.Kindest regards,Benny P
