We had the most amazing experience in Argentina thanks to this travel agency. Our primary agent from beginning to start, was such a pleasure to work with. We needed to book our trip pretty last minute and in the peak holiday season of December, built around my father-in-law who had just turned 80 and had always wanted to visit Argentina. Our agent was persistent, considerate of our budget, and incredibly efficient during the planning stages. This was a great help to me, as I had never used a travel agency for the entirety of a trip before, and had never been to Argentina or South America myself. My previous travel was mostly in Central America and was done on a backpacker's budget, quite different from the trip we were looking to plan.
There is so much I want to say about our experience using this company but it is a lot to ask anyone to read an essay length review, I will try to keep it short, forgive me if I do not succeed.
A custom tailored trip is exactly what we received. Due to the fact that we ambitiously wanted to see 3 regions and Buenos Aires, there was a lot of travel in our itinerary, but somehow they managed to make all of it comfortable and effortless. Our first day in country, we encountered an unforeseen hiccup in the form of our intended airline going on strike. Our agent worked tirelessly to present options for us and battled with the airline to get us to our destination in Mendoza. In the end he got us tickets on an executive overnight bus and had our guides waiting for us at the station in San Rafael, a few hours from our accommodations. We arrived well rested and visited the intended wineries on the way, keeping our itinerary in-tact. I am so grateful for this as our accommodations at Finca Adalgisa were stunning and a true highlight of the trip.
Our trip was built in a way that every destination was more spectacular than the last. My father-in-law had no problem keeping up with our activities and the consideration of his limitations became more and more evident to me as our trip progressed. A fact I can credit to the time and effort our agent put in to planning our trip. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the three founders are brothers and it made our interactions seem that much more personable. They were amazing at keeping open communication with us during the whole trip and checking to make sure things were going well for us and that we had no complaints. Every agency, guide, and tour they set us up with exceeded our expectations many times over and we truly experienced the trip of a lifetime.
We found ourselves discussing a future trip almost as soon as ours was coming to a close. Undoubtedly when we do return, our travel agency will be our first point of contact. Thank you guys for all of your hard work, there aren't words to express how grateful I am to have seen your beautiful country and to have shared it with my husband and his parents.
I suppose saying all of them, is unhelpful :) . Our stay at Finca Adalgisa was lovely. We are especially glad we listened to the advice of the proprietor, and partook of their Asado experience. We spent the most wonderful dinner in the company of other lodgers, replete with delicious wine and stimulating conversation. Truth be told, we unintentionally kept the staff well past closing that night, but they were more than understanding.
Ushuaia was a huge highlight for us. Our tour company showed us a great time, between the 4x4 drives to the beautiful forest walks, our crabbing experience, the navigation on the Beagle Channel, and the overall feel of the town and area, you could say we were pretty smitten. We departed Ushuaia well fed and glowing. It is a destination we all hope to visit again someday.
I really enjoyed the dinner show we attended in Calafate on Christmas. The rustic settings, food, and vibrancy of the performers made it a very enjoyable evening. The discovery program was another part of our itinerary that blew our expectations away. It stands out as my favorite day in Calafate. Our guide for our Perito Moreno Glacier tour was also engaging and very considerate of my father-in-law. The magnificence of the glacier and the park was enjoyed by all of us very much.
Our guided city tour in Buenos Aires on the second to last day in Argentina followed by the Tango Show and dinner was an excellent way to close out our trip. As I said, our itinerary was so well built there really aren't any parts of it that weren't the most enjoyable or memorable.
Honestly? I would have stayed even longer. Two members of our party had only a 2 week window for the trip, which is why I enlisted the help of our agency to begin with. Going over it all in my mind, that is quite literally the only thing I would do different.
