I would like the experience from using an agency to be more personalized and unique. Sometimes the trips feel “cookie cutter” and not “luxury”. This trip more or less felt as though our hotels, air, and transfers was done - nothing else “unique”, which I felt I could’ve done myself and not why I went through a travel agent in the first place. I did speak with our agent about this and he seemed to understand, which is why I think they stepped it up a bit in order to improve our overall experience working with that agency.
TRAVEL COMPANY COMMENTS:
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a returning customer of Zicasso, and for choosing our company to assist in your recent trip to Europe. We are pleased that you “had a great time”, as at the end of the day, all we want to provide to any clients we are lucky to assist, is an enjoyable and memorable trip. However, we strive for perfection, and if you returned home with any sort of disappointment, this was not achieved.
We have a lot of experience with creating luxury travel with kids, with many families traveling every year with us, however the children are usually of an older age. Having a two-year-old on a trip does present its own challenges, especially when we you know you were concerned about your child’s nap and feeding regiment, or how she would hold up during any tours. Therefore, we left the Stockholm portion of the itinerary very open. We then planned for you to go to the Island of Gotland, a very family friendly Swedish summer island. We thought your family would enjoy going to the beach, exploring the walled city of Visby visit farms etc. After that we planned for you to join your friends from Luxembourg in Copenhagen and where we had more tours planed for both families. Since you decided to go to Berlin, another city that is difficult to plan with a very young child, we decided on the same open schedule.
We tried to put together some great tours for you in Copenhagen for your friends and family, but you only decided to choose one, and this one turned out not to allow a 2-year-old to participate. Leading to an itinerary we’d agree wasn’t very “unique”, so we did step up and try to atone for this. We pulled together with our partners and were able to provide you, free of charge:
A Michelin Star tasking menu dinner in Stockholm with a transfer.
Our Agent’s own Cousin to babysit your two-year-old to attend that dinner.
A Pippi Longstocking doll and balloons to decorate your suite for your child’s birthday.
Upgraded hotel in Berlin.
Added transfers for you to go back and forth to your friend’s house in Luxembourg.
These were small gestures to show our dedication to you. We know the service we provide is something we are proud of and planning a trip with a very young child across Europe presented its own challenge, that culminated to, as you stated, having a great time. We provided 24/7 support while you were on your trip and provided dinner and a hotel upgrade to offset the feeling you had about the somewhat open itinerary.
We again thank you for using us, and wish you continued travel adventures!
