Our family celebrated a major family milestone (Mom's 90th birthday) with a trip to Spain. The trip surpassed expectations, as this tour company attended to every detail promptly and thoughtfully. We can't recommend them highly enough. The hotel selections were great - boutique hotels with lots of personality. Such fun to eat breakfast surrounded by Roman ruins in both Valencia and Cordoba. Our itinerary was thoughtfully curated to allow for lots of sightseeing (with a focus on art and architecture) while also building in sufficient down time and the opportunity for us to explore on our own.
Our tour planner and his team were ever professional and always responsive to all our questions and needs, and they accommodated our special requests (wheelchairs, fragrance free rooms, last minute transfers) with grace. The guides and drivers they arranged were warm, knowledgeable and flexible. Considering the various taxi strikes during our visit, they didn't miss a beat and always got us where we needed to go. We especially appreciated the use of a hot spot during trip to make sure we could stay in communication.
Thank you for crafting a beautiful and memorable experience for our family. We loved our two weeks in Spain, and those are memories we'll cherish for a lifetime. Thank you, tour company!
Our cooking class in Barcelona was a highlight - fun to learn how to make vegetarian paella, as well as a great shortcut for removing the seeds from a pomegranate. It was fun for the whole family, which ranged in ages from 35-90. We also loved touring various markets to view and sample items for sale.
Our tapas tour in Sevilla was great where our enthusiastic guide showcased different sherries, hams, olives and many more traditional fares. All our guides were clearly very proud of and knowledgeable about their cities.
The mix of hotels was great, as some were more traditional, others contemporary - but all were comfortable with friendly and thoughtful staff.
Spain is a stunningly beautiful country. We were overwhelmed by the works of Gaudi in Barcelona, the mosque/cathedral in Cordoba, the Alhambra in Granada, the Alcazar in Sevilla and Calatrava's works in Valencia.
We would try to build in more time in certain cities, such as Barcelona and Sevilla. There's so much to see and do. Would have been great to see the Picasso Museum or the Mies Van Der Rohe pavillion or the Salvador Dali house. A performance of the Andalusian horses could have been a special treat.
Also, we might spend more time trying to find the best regional artisans and artists. Most cities had masses of tourist souvenir shops. We'd have liked to build in time find high quality ceramics, jewelry, scarves and more as our group enjoys shopping.
