Our travel agency was very thorough and met our needs. They went above and beyond to communicate with us and were available any time assistance was required. The itinerary established for us showed our agent's attention to detail and that our desires were heard. We greatly appreciated him providing recommendations and insight where our knowledge was limited.
We would highly recommend this agent and his company to our friends who inquire of traveling to Spain. Knowing they were available to us 24/7 gave us a comfort and security that allowed us to relax and enjoy the coun
While we had a great time in Spain and were grateful that we utilized this agency for our guide, we do have the following recommendations:
1. While we understand accommodations at the hotel in Seville were a part of the cultural experience, the hotel smelled of mildew and was not ideal for us. If you desire to continue to recommend this venue for accommodations, then disclaimers should be made to your clients to inform them that this is a part of a cultural experience so that they can decide whether or not they desire to partake. We would have chosen different accommodations. In addition, providing us with more knowledge and information about driving conditions in the old cities would have better prepared us when renting a vehicle. We thought the free upgrade that was offered us was a blessing only to find that it made our navigation of Seville's streets a very stressful ride as I had to get out and direct my husband to back up the equivalence of 3 city blocks as we couldn't turn down one of the streets.
2. While we would rate the accomodations in Tarifa a step above those in Seville, we would again recommend that full disclosure be made to the client. We were a little uncomfortable as to the security of this location and might have chosen a different venue.
Our Tapas tour in Madrid was greatly enjoyable and a wonderful welcome into the culture of Spain.
Our tours guide in Toledo was superb and we highly recommend him to anyone wanting a tour of Toledo, we learned so much about the city and his personal private touches were amazing. He made Toledo a highlight of our trip.
Our guide in Cordoba was also superb, energetic and obviously in love with Cordoba.
The Flamenco show in Seville was definitely a must; also thoroughly enjoyed. Adding the museum with the history and back story gave us insight and perspective adding greater enjoyment.
I'm so grateful that we decided to include Morocco and again our tour guide's love and knowledge of Morocco made this experience outstanding. We were able to experience parts of Morocco that likely wouldn't have been a part of a group tour. We would again highly recommend this to anyone interested. The highlight was the Casbah and its people, the ability to experience everyday life there among the people was invaluable.
While we were a little apprehensive about driving in Spain, we are grateful for the recommendation to rent a vehicle because it allowed us more freedom to step off of the designated path when desired. We were able to make additional stops including one at Gibraltar on the way to Ronda.
The focal point of the trip to Spain was to go to Ronda, my namesake. Spending two days there in the Parador with a balcony overlooking the Gorge was a dream come true. This definitely exceeded my expectations and our tour guide was also warm and inviting and enthused about his native city.
It was my desire to have some downtime as we ended our tour and prepared to return to our normal lives. The decision to stay in Malaga would provide a beautiful beach by which to sit and relax and wind down.
Our Tapas tour in Madrid was greatly enjoyable and a wonderful welcome into the culture of Spain. , however, we realized that a tour of Madrid would have also been valuable.
Our guide in Cordoba was also superb, energetic and obviously in love with Cordoba, but she lacked the extra insight and personal touch we received in Toledo.
The Flamenco show in Seville was definitely a must; also thoroughly enjoyed. Adding the museum with the history and back story gave us insight and perspective adding greater enjoyment. We would have added a tour of Seville, much like the one in Toledo and Cordoba.
In Ronda, we would have loved for a tour that would have taken us to the bottom of the Gorge and been a little more detailed.
We found Malaga beautiful and we anticipated that it would not be warm enough to swim, but we just love the beach. We were disappointed to find that the beaches were filthy with garbage and debris littering the sand like sea shells.
Due to weather, our excursion to the King's Highway was cancelled and our travel agency did ask if we wanted to schedule something else and we refused, but a tour of Malaga would have been great. Without a tour, 3 days was one day too long.
