This trip was so efficiently planned and I am so very happy to have found a company the specialized in where I wanted to go. For our family this was a once in a lifetime trip and our travel agency helped us not only keep the cost down but made this a luxury vacation. They listened to all of our requests and actually acted on them. It was truly unique to feel like a priority in a customer service industry where this is usually not the case. We had no problems in all of the 19 days, every ride, tour, flight went off so smoothly, unbelievable! Thank you for this memorable experience.
Well, this could be a book but I will pick a few things that we will never forget. All of Rome was wonderful and so much information it's kind of hard to even put into words. The catacombs tour was probably the favorite of the family because you were able to see the excavations in the city and the Basilica of San Clemente to see the layers of city built upon city.
Florence - The cooking class we took was by far the most memorable part of the whole trip, Ingrid was so engaging, the food we cooked was amazing, and the feeling of being truly in Italy and part of the culture was really special. The wine tour in Tuscany was also so informative and special.
Venice - This was my favorite city mostly because of our guide who really made it special. We could have never managed that city without her expertise. Her suggestions of where to eat and what to see and the timing of everything (it was so hot) was spot on. She rearranged our schedule with her to accommodate the fact that it was so hot and it truly made all the difference.
Barcelona - Sagrada Familia - the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. Our guide was actually Catholic and knew his Bible so well that his information and tour was unbelievable.
Madrid - the Palace, kind of like touring the White House but the decorations were so amazing and opulent, it was beautiful.
I would shorten it by about 3 days. By Madrid I think we were a bit burned out. or maybe just stayed in Barcelona and relaxed going to the beach. Madrid to me was kind of like going to New York City but it really could have been that we were all tired by that point. Also, the walking guide in Madrid was not near as interesting or informative as all the other guides we had throughout the trip.
Also, I know we were given the tipping guide and it was helpful, but because the trip was very specific it would have been nice to just have the $ tip next to each tour/cab/pickup situation if the service was acceptable.
