This agent was an amazing travel consultant - right from her very first email correspondence, it was clear that she had a lot of experience not just with planning trips to Peru, but of the Peruvian culture, traditions, and sights (it helped that she lived there for a period!), such that she was able to customise a trip for us that ticked all of the boxes of things that we wanted to see. We expressed that we didn't just want to go to the typical touristy places, and had read a little about Northern Peru, and wanted to explore some of the areas up there - she organised an itinerary for us that was absolutely perfect! She knew we were after picturesque mountain and waterfall views, and booked the most amazing accommodation for us in every city that we visited. Her choice of guide was also wonderful - we had a fantastic time with our guide, who made sure we were always very well looked after and never outside our comfort zone. The transportation provided was also great, and we never had any worries for safety or the quality of the driving.
We spoke a number of times over the phone, and our agent was extremely precise with details, wanting to get everything just right for us. I also felt that she went above and beyond what I would have expected of a travel consultant - we had a few minor hiccups during the trip (one was at 10.30pm!), and she would respond to me immediately and help me out! I can't sing her praises loudly enough - I have never had such a wonderful travel consultant who was so knowledgeable, experienced, and just a really, really nice and kind person who genuinely loves what she does, and loves to help people enjoy the splendour that is Peru. It truly is an amazing and magical place, made all the more so by having such a fabulous travel consultant and advisor such as this agent!
We really enjoyed exploring the different cities that we visited, particularly Cusco, and as we do enjoy our food, we had a great time looking for different places to eat. It was the first time that we tried alpaca (which was delicious!), as we felt that we had to try either that or guinea pig, and opted for the former. Other really memorable moments were of course, Macchu Picchu which was just an amazing and spiritual place - it is hard to describe in words!
We would have gone for longer! :)
