Our group of 8 (two families of 4) just returned from a fabulous trip to Barcelona and the Costa Brava. Our travel company and our agent were great to work with and created a fabulous itinerary. We really wanted to not just visit places but enjoy them with hands on experiencds. We really appreciated our agent coming to meet us in Barcelona to personally welcome us and it was very convenient to have the portable wifi devices provided by our travel agent. What really made the trip special were the special experiences arranged by our agent and our guide. The cooking class in Barcelona was amazing and our guide and instructors took special care to make it kid friendly...they even got to create their own kid-sangria! All of us got to have a very memorable hands on cultural experience finished with a delicious lunch! The bike tour of Barcelona was also incredible. Both the bicycle guide and our tour guide were great at showing us the city and again making the bike tour fun and informative. We took a motorized bike tour of a winery and the kids especially enjoyed the motorized bikes as they had never experienced this. We now have a new found respect and appreciation for Gaudi and anyone who creates mosaics after we tried our hands at creating our own mosaics...lots of fun! We also had a very memorable cooking class in the Emporda region (Costa Brava). Our hosts welcomed us to their gorgeous restored farmhouse as if they were welcoming family. We cooked a delicious lunch together which we enjoyed accompanied by perfectly paired wines. The hotel selected by our travel company while we were in the Costa Brava was also amazing...we did not want to leave the Mas de Torrent and its fabulous staff. The spa at the Mas de Torrent was perfect after busy days of sightseeing and the chef, waiters, bartenders were so welcoming. We enjoyed every moment from when we arrived to our lovely rooms with fresh fruit and homemade chocolate (best chocolate ever), our gourmet dinner and tour of the kitchen with the chef to our last drink at the cozy hotel bar. Overall it was a fabulous trip and I would happily work with this company again and again. Graciasl!

If I could go later in the year to get slightly warmer weather in Costa Brava.
Stay longer in Barcelona and at the Mas de Torrent
although it was great that we visited before the usual turist season as we rarely had any crowds anywhere we visited
