My husband I married on our 7th anniversary and planned a trip of a lifetime for our honeymoon. An 18 day explorations of Italy. We used this agent and she created an individually tailored trip for us. We could never have achieved what she created. As the trip was closer, I was worried, what if we do not like this hotel, or this room etc. I should not have worried. Only the very best accommodations, in perfectly situated locations based on what we said we wanted to do. Additionally because we were part of this company, every hotel treated us like friends (even though we have never traveled to Italy), leaving Champagne and handwritten notes in the room and ensuring we were happy. Our excursions were top rated. Every transfer was perfectly orchestrated and effortless. If we had any questions, or clarifications, a quick email to our agent and she responded the same day. It was clear she was checking in on each leg of our trip without even knowing. It was nice knowing we had someone there in Italy keeping up with our travels and able to answer our questions.
We were worried about using a travel planner. Sending funds to Italy and not knowing much about it (relied on reviews). It was the best decision we could have made. We had nothing to worry about.
Honestly there are too many to list. We loved Sicilia. Palermo - the hotel there, dinner there is amazing I highly recommend the Sea Bass for two. Just receiving it at the table as they prepare it for you is an experience. The beautiful city of Taormina is a place for exploration with lovely places to stop for wine as you overlooking breathtaking views. I would not have even planned this location in the trip it was our agent who suggested it. A favorite for sure.
The Amalfi coast was great. Our hotel there - what a treat, such a historical hotel, the views were breath taking. The cooking class at the hotel was a highlight of the trip. Made friends with some of the other couples and enjoyed the whole experience. We enjoyed the restaurant enough that we ate there again. A little street cafe Di Galli Bar - the food and wine were some of the best on the trip and economical. Service great. I had fish and chips (odd right?) but better than ANY I have had (and I lived in London and now in Florida). Salted cod, they assure me only in the Med is it that good.
Small Group Boat Trip to Capri from Positano. .The boat was stocked champagne, little snacks, stocked cooler and his homemade Limoncello. Swimming in the cove was just amazing surrounded by the mountains. The water crisp, cool and turquoise.
We enjoyed a 12 mile bike ride through Tuscany stopping at three wineries and just had a wonderful long day.
Dinner in Florence - there was a large group of men in a private room near our dinning area. After the group was finished with dinner we realized it was a group of about 15 Bishops and Cardinals in Roma from around the world for the Jubliee. They each greeted us they walked by. I captured one photo of a them. Llater a young server said to me reverently - "very special guests"
Each element of the trip was wonderful and we had a worry free fun time. There are truly too many memories (big and small to share).
We would not have spent as much time in Venice using that time for the Amalfi Coast and Sicily
