Our trip to Argentina far exceeded our expectations and this was entirely due to the experience, professionalism, personalized care and superior communication of our tour operators. We had specific requests, such as spending a day at the annual gaucho festival in San Antonio de Areca, leaving the States on a certain day and specific places and hotels we wanted to visit. They were the only agency able to put the together the pieces of the puzzle which allowed for a perfect trip. While they gave us a cell phone with which to contact them during our stay, there was no need, as everything was perfect. They checked in with their operators and hotels each day making sure our activities went off without a hitch. Plane tickets arrived at our hotel room each morning of the six days we flew in and out of our destinations. Drivers and guides were always there with a smile as we walked out the door to start our day's activity. The hotels, restaurants, and activities were exactly as described. They secured tickets and made restaurant reservations before we started our trip, leaving us with nothing to do, but relax and enjoy ourselves. This trip was a stress-free, luxurious and thrilling. While we Skyped throughout the planning process, it was special for us to be met by one of our tour operaters upon our arrival, and to meet up with both of them on our last day in Buenos Aires. They care deeply about their clients, and it shows from beginning to end. Argentina is a vast and beautiful country and well worth visiting. These tour operators are the very best in the field. There aren't enough stars in the rating system to represent the quality of their service, so we are limited 5 gold stars.
We visited Buenos Aires, San Antonio de Areco (annual gaucho festival held outside of Buenos Aires in mid November which includes a gaucho parade through the cobbled streets of the town square, a huge open-air barbeque and an exhibition of gaucho riding skills, music and dance), Iguazu Falls, El Calafate and Bariloche. We loved being there in springtime as the flowers and trees were blooming. The vibrant yellow of the Scotch Broom in Bariloche was spectacular. Every aspect of our trip was enjoyable and well worth doing. The most memorable parts include visiting the Perito Merino Glacier and doing the mini-trekking; the Southern Glacier hiking expedition, especially the zodiac crossing of the Frias Lake; and the stunning views outside our rooms at our hotels in El Calfate and in Bariloche.
We would like to have visited Salta, but did not have time on our two week trip to include it.
