Our travel agent and the safari travel company arranged one of the very best trips my sister and I have ever taken. The lodges in the Kruger Park they recommended were beyond comfortable and the daily animal drives provided us with more wildlife than we dreamed possible. The staff and guides/trackers at Indube and Lukimbi were superior and provided us with a delightful stay. Our Namibia portion of our holiday was a small group tour. I can not praise them more. We saw so much of beautiful Namibia---geology, desert sunsets (and sunrises aplenty, too!), animals, minerals, amazingly odd plants and lovely, friendly people. We were spoiled from our arrival in Windhoek until we were returned to the airport for our flight to Cape Town. Our agent company arranged four days of sightseeing and indulgence at a glorious hotel for us in CT, and we were very sad to leave.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this agent and this safari travel company. 5 STARS, A+++, Superior!
We loved the game drives and seeing a very wide variety of animals. From leopard, cheetah, wild dog, black and white rhino, elephant, giraffe, Hartman's Mountain zebra and on to the lesser, but oh-so-interesting dung beetles, leopard tortoise and dessie. Seeing the Skeleton Coast and the dunes of the Namib meeting the sea was a delight, also.
Other than the one tour, Through no fault of our travel company, we would most regrettably, skip the tour of Robben Island. Both my sister and I were so looking forward to seeing Robben Island and hearing of the sacrifice and struggle of Nelson Madela and the others of the anti-arpheited movement who were incarcerated there for so long. Unfortunately it was the worst tour I have ever taken. Ill organized, we milled around for, at least, an hour of wasted time. We waited for the buses to arrive for the tour while we stood on the dock, we were off loaded to a place to see penguins and the island, but mostly we were encouraged to buy food & drink. When we finally arrived at the prison, we were ushered into a hallway, an empty room and not told what to do or where to go. More wasted time. When the ex-prisoner finally appeared to give his talk, we cold not hear him. Back to the dock and more waiting. The boat we finally were able to board for the return to the mainland was cramped and crowded and rife with seasick passengers. it took an hour longer for the return than the ride over on a different vessel (a catamoaran). Tourists are are tight schedules, trying to see and do as much as possible. There was NO EXCUSE for this unorganized and shoddy tour. It shows great disrespect to the ANC movement and to Mr. Madela. I was so disappointed.
