Thank you to this travel agency and our travel planner for an incredible Greek honeymoon! From the beginning, our likes, dislikes, and price range were all thoughtfully considered, and we really did end up with the perfect itinerary! For reference, I'm perfectly happy with a book, cocktail, and sun, while my husband prefers to remain active for at least some part of the day. Our planner suggested Athens (2 days); Santorini (4 days); and Crete (4 days). He set up a private food and Acropolis tour in Athens; and a semi-private (only 3 other couples) food and wine tour in Santorini. We were left to our own devices to plan the rest of our days, and it was the perfect combination of relaxation and activity for us both. He also made some restaurant recommendations that we utilized for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed!
- All of the accommodations were impeccable from the location to the service we received. Wonderful views, and the staff at each hotel could not have been better. We were even allowed to remain in our Santorini hotel until 3pm (checkout was usually at 12pm) in order to accommodate our departing flight.- Complimentary breakfasts were included at all of our hotels. I'm not sure if this was included in the price we paid, or something our travel planner was able to setup independently from that. It was a perfect way to start the day and saved us from spending the more money than we needed to. And...they were all great! Fresh fruits, yogurts, eggs, etc. I'm sad to come home to boring cereal.- Transportation. This may have been the best part! Not having to worry about internal transport was awesome. All of our drivers were incredibly friendly and met us promptly as we exited our flights. It was all very seamless, and again, helped us save some money and headaches during the trip itself.
Nothing! We now want to explore more places in Greece when there is more of an ability to travel via water.
To note, we did arrive in Greece after the main tourist season (ending Oct. 15). Our travel planner explained that we would have to fly internally because the hydrofoils no longer operated between the islands. While this did slightly cut into some of our leisure time, we were happy to sacrifice that time in order to avoid huge crowds. We were around a lot of locals, which was neat, and most of the restaurants and shops were still open. The weather couldn't have been better - warm during the day and cool at night - and we were able to enjoy most meals outside. We can't wait to plan - or rather have our travel planner help us plan - our next trip! Thank you!
