This trip totally exceeded our expectations and it was largely because of this travel agency. From the private transfers in really nice cars to the wonderful tour guides we met and amazing dinner recommendations... we really did what we wanted to do and were able to adjust some things on the fly, too. To not have to worry about anything was like a vacation within the vacation. This travel specialist has excellent taste. He booked us in super nice hotels and recommended restaurants that were really special. When a storm cancelled our ferry to Hvar, our travel specialist booked and comped us dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant, and scheduled a wine tasting for us the next day. Our tour guide also stayed with us like two hours longer than she needed to and purchased the new ferry tickets. When our boat trip to see the Blue Cave was cancelled, our travel specialist got us a boat to a special bay on a different island where we found a gorgeous restaurant and were able to go swimming in jewel-toned waters - it was probably even better than had we gone on the boat trip. When one of our hotels was overbooked our travel specialist was all over it. Ultimately we wound up staying at the hotel as planned - AND they put us in a suite. He recommended great restaurants that were totally not overrun with tourists - many of whom were personal favorites of his. The entire trip he made sure we got to our destinations safely and that we were in great hands. I cannot recommend this company enough - I was so impressed I am quite sure I'll be booking a cruise with them in the future. I really hope they launch more travel company brands.
The Croatian cooking experience in Lovorno was the highlight of the trip. I wish we had stayed there a night in the middle of the trip. It was so special, so rustic and gorgeous - and a nice break from the restaurant scene.
Loved Diocletian's palace - our tour guide was fantastic. Super genuine and perfect timing. Also liked the Spanish fortress in Hvar.
Bokeria in Split and Zori on that island near Hvar were favorite restaurants.
The hotels in Dubrovnik and Hvar were so amazing - I wish we had more time to spend AT the hotel pools.
The pace could have been more relaxing - I wouldn't have dropped a city.... but it was like 4 hotels rooms in 9 days so a lot of packing and repacking.
The national park was pretty but we are rather spoiled in Washington and it was such a long drive out, it wasn't totally worth it. We loved our driver - and we had an awesome time getting a bite to eat afterward - so if we could have hung out with her just in Split that would have been great. :)
Jason didn't care for the Game of Thrones tour - even though the guy probably only did about 25% GOT material. Our tour guide was a nice guy and he was good - just not as likeable as our other guides.
