The trip was wonderful and Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful. This travel company did a great job planning with me. They really listened to what we wanted and provided a lot of different options.
The gentleman I was working with happened to leave the company between my deposit date and my pay in full date. I had to email the company many days after I was supposed to pay my final payment and ask where my invoice was. What would have happened had I not emailed?
On the trip, almost everything happened as they said it would. There was always someone picking us up at the right time when we needed to go somewhere. Everyone we met was so incredibly nice.
I say ALMOST every happened as it was supposed to as there was one time when an activity we had planned and paid for was cancelled. They actually came to pick us up for the morning session of the activity (we were scheduled for the afternoon session) but we were already off at another activity at the time. Later, we got a call from the travel company asking if we wanted to switch and they would call us back with some options. Well, we never heard back from them - so, we basically lost some money on that activity that we never got to do through no fault of our own.
Seeing Costa Rica. We traveled around many different eco-systems in the country. The only word that I could think of to describe it is "stunning". Waterfall repelling was pretty awesome too (even though I am deathly scared of heights).
I don't think that I would plan as much. With the weather being as it is, sometimes I think it would be best to see what the weather is going to be like for the day before planning your activities. For instance, if it is pouring out you really don't want to do a hike, but waterfall repelling or white water rafting would be awesome since you are going to get wet anyway. If you planned ahead, this might not be an option and you could be stuck.

We are glad you had a wonderful trip and enjoyed our beautiful country. We are so sorry about your canceled tour. We want to let you know that during your trip we did agree with your last hotel in Manuel Antonio to give you a credit of $140. We left you a message at the front desk but the hotel never informed you and didn't deduct $140 out of your final invoice on your check out.
We feel terrible sorry about this as we did try to resolve this issue during the trip. We talked with the hotel and it looks like it was miscommunication issue with the staff at the front desk.
We are reimbursing you $140 with an apology letter from the hotel.
